Hi, here is my view on the S3. It was an enticing alternative to the B8 S4 upon release in 2015; because despite it being an "entry level" model, it weighed much less than the S4, had much better interior tech, and had a lot more mod potential due to the engine being turbocharged.

The B9 solves all of these issues.

-The technology found in the B9 is superior to that found in the S3, and the interior design/quality is also a big step up.

-Drivetrain, the S4 is now turbo'd of course, and has 50% more displacement than the S3, so the engine will blow away the 2.0T in every way. You also get quattro mechanical AWD which is more RWD biased and has torque vectoring rear sports diff. Both make a big difference in the handling department, and both are omitted from the S3.

Lastly, it's much lighter weight than the B8 S4, within 200lbs of the S3. Still a little heavier, but all of the other benefits dwarf the small difference in weight, in my opinion.

I put a deposit down as well on an RS3 sedan. My dealer called me and confirmed it's coming. Arrival date August 2017 or sooner. We'll play the waiting game now.

Thinking about picking up another Lexus RX come August before going back to school I accepted an internship downtown Chicago so me and the folks don't really see a need to force a car purchase in the next few months when Im just going to be taking the train to work everyday all summer

My 2001 RX300 was a tank and ill always regret selling it probably pick up a 05-06 pay cash and just be done with it I know it will last me in till i graduate just wish they had a little more power

The Benz will have to wait at least a year or 2 hopefully I can find a nice 2010-2012 E AMG or worse comes to worse the 350 with 4matic suspension by then

Easily I've always preferred Mercedes over BMW's especially during the 80's and 90's these days all the classes look way to similar but obviously the S class coupe had to come in set it self apart :pimp: :pimp:

Shopping for a new car.. Looking for a daily commuter, good on gas, fun to drive, something I can whip for 5-7 years by keeping up maintenance.

Budget is 10-15k. What y'all got?

Been looking at a 13-15' Volkswagen Passat

Civic si? Acura TL type s? The si would probably be the most fun for you, and it would be extremely reliable and good on gas.
