\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Yo, has ur m3 gone thru that scheduled 50k-60k mileage brake job yet? That is da main reason my cousin got rid of his. Its a 5k dollar job [emoji]128517[/emoji].

His joint had every option, including da carbon fiber roof.
Complete set of OEM rotors and pads for front and rear is like $1000.

If you can't do a brake job on your own you're probably better suited in a Honda Accord than an M3

I'm willing to bet good money more Accord owners are changing their brakes on their own than M3 owners.

idk man i worked at a Honda dealership and i can't see this being true. 99% of Accord/Civic owners drive the piss out of them and pay 0 attention to any kind of maintenance outside of the occasional oil changes.  You wouldn't believe how many people come in there with the pads totally gone, straight metal on metal in there.

He said it wasn't as simple as plug & play, those bimmer technicians basically do a full analysis on da computer, and also service & flush da lines, balancing, etc.

His mentality is why em i paying X amount of dollars for a sports luxury car & i gotta turn around & do da work? Let it go before it hit 52k on da odometer.

That could be true but when it does come to actually doing the job your typical M3 owner isn't grabbing a wrench, they paying someone to do that.

Honestly most people with nicer cars are because they don't have the time.

Exactly.

Plus if I'd rather pay someone to do it right then me **** something up trying to do it.

And this is why a majority of people lease Bimmers, and the ones more inclined to do the wrenching buy them 2nd hand.

Honestly maintenance isn't THAT crazy when it comes to E92 Ms, BMW has super long intervals for most flushes and other stuff.

**** just gets real when something breaks

Yea i'm gonna pay to have my KW's put on because for the price i'd rather just pay it than spend a whole day ******* with it.  Plus he's doing alignment, corner balance, and coding my car for free.

camaro ss is how much?

my 08 m3 was only 30k without the warranty and that murica' basic v8 will never sound like the exotic mine does with my corsa full exhaust so , cough

lets bring it back ? what you drive picasso again ? lmaooooooo

Boy please, you spent that $35 large on a Bimmer with 70k miles. Smart you are not, stunting you are trying, budget balling you are. Aint that thing spent the last 2 weeks in the shop?

How long did it take you to come up with that?

Thats definitely NOT ballin on a budget though, which is such an ignorant phrase.

Buying a 05 745i with 140k miles would be a better example.

You think thats a good deal? $35k with warranty for a 70k e92?

Thats a lot of miles for any German car. Been bustin dudes chops about this for a minute and he just wants to play the "you drive a Honda" card everytime as if it makes my opinion any less valid.

Stop playing daddy.

As far as doing your own work on your car

You have to decide if it's worth the time to work on something you have no experience on. Even some easy jobs

I'll work on the simple stuff like changing struts shocks ,steering parts .brakes

If I feel it's something that's beyond my experience I'll take it to someone who does .
Even then I find the part I need myself and just have them install it.

Yes it is with the warranty they range from $3-5k, go check AutoTrader or the forums right now and see where the market is currently at, also check NADA which is what majority of banks use for loan value. It's not a 328i or something its an M, its already took the big depreciation hit.

You act like these cars die at anything close to 100k miles

Its all about how you treat and maintain it, which in his case he didn't do the best job of

With warranty its not a horrible deal. But i definitely payed a LOT less for my car with less miles.

That warranty he got already payed for itself tho

Exactly. It's almost like the old saying like having a gun when you need it lol it really pays off.

I was trading something in when I bought mine so it was different obviously but they offered me $5k over what I owed on my trade so I came out on top from my point of view.

this x 999999    just lol at having 200 on the dash but cant change brake pads or atleast have a friend with a shop thatll do it for you if you spark him up or bring a twelve pack

The warranty was a HUGE lifesaver I admit that, im just not into spending that much for an e92 (one of my fav Bimmers) with that many miles.

i paid 30k , got a 4400 warranty that is now giving me an engine with 52k miles......$500 deductible.....i have a 2016 loaner for like a month now and another 2 weeks or so for FREE cause of the warranty , including tolls for free..........go jump in that honda and hear that vtec son ....i mean rookie

nelson that sells exotic cars for a living even said with the warranty it was a good deal. so yeah go vroom vroom with that thing that has like 120 on the dash

Well then you're gonna have to spend $40-50k for a newer one with lower miles lol

An 8 year old car with 70k miles is well under average use even if it is an M. I'd dare say that the M line is one of the more reliable series that BMW has ever made, majority of issues in certain models (rod bearings for E92) only happen in less than like 2% of owners. The E60 is really the only one that I would probably never buy because of reliability issues.

all that had to be said tbh
exactly.......foreign used , the best packages / fastest with warranty > paying for brand new and losing 20k+ the minute you drive off the lot.
