\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Anyone have experiences with audi a3's? I have an '07 with about 55k miles. No mechanical issues, but wondering if I should sell now before the major problems start coming... Thanks in advance.

How does nt feel about ss trailblazer? I was lookin and came across a 07 n I was thinking bout copping. I currently own a 07 grand prix gxp and I need more power

Well what JGC are you looking to get?

Regular Laredo/Limited/Overland?

Maintenance isnt bad and if you get the v6 or 4.7v8 it only needs regular 87

The 5.7 recommends 89 but 87 can be used. Maintenance isnt too bad on these.

Or the SRT?

SRT gets more expensive because every 6k the tcase fluid has to come out bc it gets worn down quickly. When I change my tcase fluid its BLACK BLACK and I cant imagine what it would look like at the recommended 15k interval.

30k for the diff fluid and trans fluid needs to be changed and at 50-60k I would do plugs.

Oh and it requires Premium fuel (91 or higher) and eats it like its going out of style.

Im poor so ima go the v8 4.7 most likely. Regular base package for me. I'm cool with that.

04 TL....

I had a lot of trouble with an A3 back in 2005 (same model) mainly the windshield wiper motor kept going. Happened like 3 times in the yr, sounds trivial but if its raining and your wipers stuck in the middle of your windsheld you cant drive safely!

The car has good residual value tho, I didnt loose as much sellin it after 2 yrs of ownership as the Golf GTI I had before that.

My BMW 535d - I was considering a DMS remap and LSD but Im selling it this yr for a QP so Im leavin it stock.

I heard guys getting 380+BHP and 500+ tq on the remap, but its out of warranty this yr so Im not taking any chances, its back to petrol for me this yr - take advantage of the drop in petrol car prices 8)

Look dope!

^ Yeah it was a bit of a compromise from the M3 CSL I had before but its much more suited for family life (I was also doing a lot of miles when I first got the car) I hear there is a new 550d thriple turbo coming out soon but Ive heard mixed reviews and I dont do much driving these days which is why im thinking of going with something a bit more exotic. Im not afraid of the service costs on a Mas I got hook ups in the business so Im more about finding the right car cus I dont buy new. (Took me 8 months to find the right 535d so I think long term when I buy a used car)

I agree with those sentiments, I buy exotics used. I won't take that much deprecation on the chin. Take a look at a grandturismo sport price is around 100k but if you really look you can get it cheaper. Mas over chargers like a MF on there service... My rarri has PCB's and chain belts so I really only do oil changes.

Actually you said you have a family so you may want to look at the quatrpote

^ I was considering the old Gransport coupe (love the skirts :smokin) but as I mentioned with the little one getting in and out the back of a coupe there is a lot of wear and tear. Rear doors are a must. I had the M3 saloon for a weekend a while back and its ideal for what Im looking for but Ive had a thing for the QP for quite a while now, a facelift 09 model would be ideal but im gonna hold out till later in the yr until the new QP is out for the best deal on the 09

99% of these cars are on lease when "new" anyhow and you can see why - guys droppin 100K depreciation in 24 months on these cars and half them barley see 5k miles in that time. Most of em are well looked after with FSH and as you say the belts are mainly for AC and services all the main action is on chains nowadays so the service isnt too bad if you know someone in the game.

Have you driven the 4.0 RS yet? A friend of mine got one late last yr, prob the best car Ive ever driven but youd need to keep your wits about you when the roads are wet.

Yes they can. Traditional engine mount turbo(or 2 in case of quad turbo) + 2 remote mount turbos = :nthat:

Remote mount setups arent very ideal for daily drivers though... not because theyre unreliable but they are SOOOOOO easy for people to steal.

Or you could just stack em like this guy
