If I where to buy a car from a dealer brand new under warranty will they fix anything that happens to the car mechanical wise? I want to see if i can get a stick shift car and since i cant drive stick if I where to say blow the clutch or transmission will they fix that? Basically this is the only way i see it possible to even learn how to drive stick, well for me anyways. So will i be covered for that? And how easy is it to burn out a new clutch or transmission assuming the car is brand new and that ill stall a few times while learning?
That won't be covered. In your case "Driver Error" is all on you. A friend of mine bought a breade new 2012 M3 (manual of course) and the gearbox/clutch was already messed up upon delivery. He brought it to the dealer over 3 times and they weren't able to fix it, so it tell into the "Lemon Law" where you have the right to a new car. They denied his claim, he took them to court and actually ended up losing. Only thing he got was lost $ in lawyer fees and payments. They terminated his lease with no fee, he ended up buying another M3 but the DCT version (Twin clutch 7 speed automatic) It's not the fact that he didn't know how to drive stick, he does and has been doing it his whole life. But BMW claimed it was "Driver Error" and fought against fixing it.

You really want to learn to drive stick, go to enterprise and ask to rent a manual car. Thats what I did.

this is my first winter here in the northeast so i dont really know what its been like in the past. I was even thinking of getting the frs/brz and then getting a second beater car for the winter like an older integra or civic

highly doubt it was delivered messed up

highly doubt it was delivered messed up
No, trust me it was. It was deff a scnychro. When pushed to about 7 grand and then shifting into 2nd with the clutch literally to the pavement it would grind. BMW claimed driver error, I drove the car same thing happened. After BMWs "Driver Error" wasn't sitting too well with him they changed the problem to over abuse on the car. You're gunna sit there and tell me that he bought an M3 which is basically a racecar in a nutshell and you cant push it to 7 grand and shift without it grinding? C'mon son.

Edit: It's actually a common problem with the E92s so I do believe that it was delivered messed up.

No, but when he was pushing the car for the first time thats when he noticed it.

He did some research and theres a bunch of people having the same problem.

Is it worth it to grab a G35? Or should I just save a bit more and grab a G37? Prices are falling with G37s, I could get a decent mileage one for mid 20's, maybe even low 20's. G35's are still hovering in the $15-$20 mark.

My friend bought a G37, ended up hating it after a year. He regretted not getting the G35x. But hey, were from NY driving in the snow (when we get it at least) sucks. By all means if you live south somewhere I'd say go with the G37.

35x and lovin it here... In the northeast need the awd and weight... It's done phenomenally so far

If I had the extra bread and didn't jus have my daughter at the time I woulda gotten a 37s tho in white n bought a beater for the winter

I'm still really happy with the car tho and bang for buck. Not sure many other cars sub 20k are as good as a lightly used g35 for what it is

Comfortable. Powerful. After lowering handles like a dream. Jus a really fun/functional vehicle :pimp:

How's the fuel economy? Heard the G35/G37 engines are notorious for eating up gas.

i dont care for old Audis but that thing is NICE! that blue, tints, and nice black wheels :x

^^ yea thats a fair statement. I get 20 mpg to the dot.

Im lowered and have really soft underinflated tires tho too for these crazy potholes

I think i could get 22 if i got dif tires and didnt like to have fun n the car but an extra 2-3 mpg is so not worth it haha i could see ifbi was squeezin an extra 5-6 maybe but ya... id rather get my ricky bobby on
