Quick question.. What paint did you use for the midsoles and what 'technique' did you use to paint them? I have a pair of Flight 89's I wanna'work' on, so I picked up angelus paint and some acetone. I used blue tape to mask off surrounding areas, but I'm afraid to actually get started.Any tips/pointers??

When brushing the paint on, make sure you're brushing thin layers. If the paint ends up too thick on the areas, it will only crack and scratch off quicker.

^ I kid you not.

The yellowing is the only problem, but I for one don't really care about yellowing.

Everything else about the shoe is perfect, the patent is fine, the midsole is fine.

Look, they've eluded me for quite some time and to finally get them is a steal by me.

Preparation is the key, don't be lazy on your tape job. I take a razor blade to make sure I'm getting everything good and close to the originallines. If you didn't buy duller don't even start the paint is going to be too shiny. And make sure you clean the surface good, I use alcohol. Also onthe white part on the toe, don't paint this. I use a combination of Greasedlightning, Clorox bleach pen and Mr.Clean Magic eraser to get this back the wayit should be. Just take your time with small light strokes, about 4 coats is what I use and be sure to add a coat of duraclear when you are done. I'mre-painting the pair up there and the 2 I won this weekend and I'll post pics. Good luck.

I got the blade part down as well. I did a sample this weekend on some old Big Funds my GF had, and I was pretty impressed on how they turned out.Didn't take before pics (regret it now), but the end result looks ok. Paint didn't look too shiny to me. What do I need to dull the paint? I only gottwo coats on it, it was getting late and I was tired
