NBC's Community Thread - 6/2 - Ep. 13: "Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television"

Check out the AV Club's reviews and comments. The consensus is mixed. The "bad" episodes are absolutely hated... and even the well received episodes have their vocal critics

I liked how they brought paintball back in to it as best they could. I liked the ep. I just kinda wish at some point (preferably with Harmon) we got to know a bit more about the darkest timeline.

Loved me some Annie in this.

Also did I miss something or did the dean from City college never get to do his plan b revenge on Greendale after Chang felt accepted?

Anyway, if they don't my Pierce idea (different old actor playing Pierce every ep) I don't really think I want to see another season. I really don't think I'd want to see one picked up by Netflix or on another cable channel unless the whole cast back and in that scenario hopefully Harmon.

I don't watch the show, but have friends who do. Why don't they just start up a Kickstarter campaign and stream it? Or go the new Youtube subscription route.

Vulture reporting it's going to return.. No confirmation yet

I wouldn't have said it early on...but after watching the last few episodes, I'm all for it. It seems like they spent half the season failing miserably at trying to do Harmon's Community.

They had some moments later on, that say this can be it's own thing. It won't be as funny or good, but they're at least respecting the characters again.

It's a shame bringing Harmon back is out, but hopefully, they hand the show over to Jim Rash, who seems to really have a good handle on what works.

Yup, it's officially back.

I'm thrilled, especially since Happy Endings got cancelled and it's cable fate is undecided.

There's been enough positives this season to make me optimistic for another.

YESSSSSSS!

Considering how bad ratings have been I'm pretty surprised. Wish Harmon was still involved, but I'll survive.

Man, I'm good...They ran their course, they tied up subplots, and I feel like more and more characters are just going to drop out soon (Glover, Brie, Jeong...)

Yep, and there's a chance that helps out and increases ratings for this 5th season.

I believe Donald will want out first.

I'm happy for it. I just want NBC to show a little more respect to it and understand how actually big the show is.

I think if they stay away from "What would Harmon do" I think it can be good. But now with Jeff graduating it's ehhhh. I'm interested in it. Seems like everything in the fall will be new.

:pimp: Another season.

I knew as soon as they cancelled Whitney, Community was saved.

I would've been pissed if they picked Whitney over Community

I don't think anyone is going to leave the show, other than Chevy who is already gone.

If the show became a huge smash hit from the beginning, then now would be the time you might see cast members leaving for movies. So while it's been a good source of exposure for Glover, Brie, McHale.. any opportunities can be worked around. Like Glover was busy doing Childish Gambino stuff while they were promoting the show at one point, and tons of TV actors film movies during their breaks.

It's for 13 episodes as of right now.

Yes for the renewal! I had some gripes with some episodes this season, but overall, I was pleasant surprised that it wasn't a bust. Last's nights season finale was well done.

I think the fact that the cast is recognizable from other outlets is what's continuing to save it. People know McHale, Chevy, Jeong, Brie, and Glover. Plus the various star cameos.
