with the success and play he's doing lately and the image he's restoring...i think NIKE should revamp the VICK line and make things happen....ala Kobe.

thoughts?

i dont think this will happen because he 1 mistake away from a major suspension from nfl.. remember what happen in off season he got real lucky that didnt stick 2 him,but on another hands if he go to super bowl then yes they prolly would

Nike will never put their brand back behind Vick and Vick has been good for 2 games so I think this topic is a little early to discuss. Do you think anyone will ask Tiger to be a spokesman again after they dropped him if he wins a major again?

thats other brands though... Nike never dropped him. Nike is all business, not image.

Sure, don't see why not. They want the faces of superstar athletes pushing their brand, not saints. We all know Nike already has a reputation, and not one athlete alone can change it. But it mostly depends on Vick's play... if he can get back to where he was earlier in his career, i see them extending his contract.

if vick makes playoffs and gets probowl...They'll definitely think of something as a feel good story of redemption or something like that.

sure why not? i think he has paid his time for the crime...they should donate proceeds from his shoe sales to help animals...common nike marketing, get on it!!

People aren't as willing to turn a blind eye to animal cruelty.

PR disaster waiting to happen.

i would say they should play it safe... MAYBE go for a lowkey contract for now, but mos definitely no signatures for a while.

trust... the SWOOSH is already working on a plan to get him back in the fold.

he may never get the MV7 brand back... but i wouldnt be surprised to see him pop up on the pro combat/bomb squad type ads that nike has done recently. Nike Football is less about marketing the singular players nowadays, and more about promoting the roster.

kind of following the Under Armour model, imo.

if it does happen, itd be slow and gradual. think a pro combat commercial featuring a lot of other plays like AP, Dre Johnson, Fitz, Ray Rice.... then just a quick shot of Vick lacing up or something. nike ... or any brand for that matter, is too smart to have a campaign centered around him.

and if anyone can put a prolific and moving spin on Vicks story... its Weiden + Kennedy (nike's primary marketing arm)

No way... they only thing they would stand to gain would be public outrage.

While Vick is still a Nike endorser, giving him back a sig line would be a PR nightmare and create unecessary unpopularity with casual consumers.
