Yeah should be. I had some Lebron 6s where a little tiny piece of of the sole was coming out and they took it.
Just make sure you take a detailed picture of the problem when you ship it out so they know exactly what is wrong with it.

^ Yes, it's safer that way. Shows you documented it and you have a copy. If anything they reject it or whatnot you have a case to argue.

no need for pic...i just shipped my lebron dunkmans for the EXACT same problem but my tear on was the top eyelet right above the metal V eyelet.\
SMH on nike for horrible quality on a $160 retailed shoe (i only wore mines twice, tore during a warm up shoot around)

if you are going to take pics make sure you use the Macro setting on your camera (the little flower icon) so that its not blurry...i have pics from when i posted but i dont think there is any need to print photos to be included in the package when you ship them back...when you fill our your claim on nikebiz.com it will ask you to describe the problem.
we pay for shipping costs to them and they will only give us retail value for a voucher to be used on NDC (voucher doesnt include tax...lame!)

thanks blackcat... and i feel u.. worn mine less than 10x and this happened.... smh mannn im pissed.. only positive is its the akrons instead of another pair of 7s.. hate when shoes lacing systems tear.. arguably one of the most important part of a shoe and here it is tearing
