didn't know your pair was 11.5, so i dunno, doesn't make much sense, you're right... but it also doesn't make sense that it was a scam either... not in the traditional sense.

just weird.

if he was just trying to scam he'd buy them and do a chargeback or something.

i'm real curious just what it is he was up to now... :lol:

This. Yeah, it could have been a scam and others made valid points, but the main point you mentioned is that you had a set asking price and you was going to stick to it. It made it more difficult to haggle, it was more like "take it or leave it." Either way, it would have been difficult for you to be scammed.

Lol, dude I made the deal with to get these swapped the laces, not me.  Although I do like all 3 lace options on this shoe.  Can't go wrong.
 
Nice pick up sneakerfan. Mine came with the red laces in as well. Personally I think they look best with the red laces

Yea I have always loved red the best in these. Every pair I've owned of this colorway, I've gone with red laces. Swapped in the blacks tho and will stick with those for a bit to change it up.

Interesting that they came factory laced Red. Every pair I've seen at consignment shops had the black laces.
 
Would trading a pair of DS 2013 Black & Gold Patent 1's be equal to a DS pair of Banned's? I'm seriously thinking of doing this but wanted to get some opinions first. Thanks in advance fam!

IMO V, I wouldn't do that trade. It all comes down to personal preference though. I would be happy with a pair of black and red 2013s if I had no Banneds. It also seems harder to come across a PL than a pair of Banneds

But it was an easy choice for me since I had 2 pairs of XIs and 3 pairs of PL 1's

i sold my black gold 1s for 1200. i can find a pair of banneds for a lot cheaper than that. IMO i wouldnt do that trade especially with the 1s rereleasing in december.

I keep my shoes up for sale because if someone actually pays that much then I won't be turning down that money. But I can easily see me finally wearing them this Fall. It's been a summer of Flyknits and the occasional Royal 1 appearance
 
I think the banned's will go up in price when the black/red 1's release this year while the black/red 1 will resell for whatever the royals are going for at that time...which will be $600+
 
The Black & Gold's are actually quite comfy and have very minimal creasing, which I don't mind on 1's. I'm wondering if there are any good shoe products out there for patent leather. It's hard to say what the value of Banned's will be after the Black & Red release. It would seem like only true collector heads would be going for them since they could get the Black & Red's for much cheaper. I'm just a fan of all the detailing on the Banned's (box, paper, leather, padding and overall quality). I'll be patient since Banned's come around more frequently.
