When the old CEO matt Serra retired and the new CEO ken hicks came in he brought his (j penny) previous company attitude with him and hated the extra discount on top of a already fair discount.

Plus they don't need the employee discount to thrive. Why allow a discount on a shoe that will sell out to the public? The majority of footlocker employees use their discount to buy retros, foams, AF1, Air Max etc..... They would all sell fine at full price.

I agree with this until you got to the end. Most of the shoes that are available on a 50% have been sitting for a long time. Why do you think people come on here fiending for that exclusions list every single time rumors of a 50 come around? In case you haven't noticed, just about every shoe you mentioned above does not sell fine at full price. With the exception of certain limited releases or super super hyped Jordans, everything rots on the shelves.

These ideas are better than FNL's discount, our's is 30% with a $2,000 (tracked by retail price, not discount) limit for a year!

i was around when it was twice a year. And now i see how they do F+F and Employee Day all the time. They make the exclusion list and the rest of the product they welcome to be bought up and off their books. They just want to clear inventory and turn a bit of profit.

The main reason why the company is gaining is because of 2 shoes. Purple and cooper foams.

I think there's a lot of truth in both sides of this situation. I've got a connect who is a DM right now, and he told me directly from the last meeting he went to that the company is killing right now. At the meeting it was stated that basically something catastrophic would have to happen for the company to not meet Fiscal year goals at this point.

So I'm not really sure where I stand on this. I agree with all the comments about all the product sitting on shelves and collecting dust, but at the same time, FL's making $ somewhere if they are on pace to hit goals for the year.

You don't even have to go that far down. How about Citrus and charcoal 9s, white red 6s, pearl foams, infrared 90s, white pippens, any penny shoe not named royal or copper foamposite, lebron gr's, kobe gr's, barkley retro's, air max 95s in any color, all the griffey restocks, retro 2's, 1/2 cents, spizikes, bakins . These are all shoes that have just been sitting on the shelves that will not sell unless they go on sale.
