A question about Full length Air Max BBall shoes...

Why do Full length Air Max bball shoes like the Foamposite Max, or the Air max Uptempo 97's feel so hard on the bottom?   it is like you are walking in some bricks, but they advertise them as shoes with cushioning.. Why do they feel that way?

I believe it's because they generally have relatively little phylon cushioning above the air bag.

IIRC, the Lebron VIII does have more cushioning above the air bag.

If you're looking for a well cushioned full length air max hoops shoe, you might also want to look at the Stat one.

or the Lebron VIII, they retool around the same air bag and it feel 10 times better.

*Sometimes* the feel depends on how much you weigh.  Typically, those who are heavier will feel the cushioning response in a different/better way.  There are different cushioning systems for different *sized* players.

well, nike changed the gas used in the bubbles a few years back to be "environmentally friendly."


as a consumer, i feel they were changed to be cheaper.. making the bubbles smaller and less comfortable.

this. i tried on the viii the other day and it was

. very very surprised that they felt that comfortable for a full air max shoe.
