TEAM AIR FORCE 1 VOL. 6 AKA STOP PM'ING US

Awesome pairs!

Weird - that post is before mine in the timeline, but it wasn't there when I was posting.
Supreme/BathingApe Sais? It's been a while since I've seen that name!
is that the same sais posting up those mids?!?!?!?!
Yeah. It is the same me, decided to make a new name when they said this place got reset.

The reason that the timeline was all screwy is because since i'm "new" to niketalk my posts have to be approved by a moderator before they get posted.

another pair with the different color heel strip - '00 black/cool grey:

bonus pics with their older cousin:

also, if anyone has the black/cool grey's in a 10.5 - please PM me.

Oh, totally forgot about that pair!

I guess mustacharios/archival footwear eventually sold his sample pair. I wonder what he got for them.

it was funny to see that pair sit for the price... it's not too far off the asking price for DS 2000 Chocolate/Straw or Black/Cool Grey to begin with.

He lowered it substantially as time went on, so I'm not sure the specific pricepoint to which you were referring in that post.

...Plus, I'm all skewed because I feel I recently got a nice deal on the DS choco straws I just posted.

wore these today:

also new pickup:

there is some slight yellowing on the left shoe though. I will try to whiten the left shoe:

BIP, i was referring to the $300 or best offer listing that sat for longer than it should have.

good to hear you got a good deal on your pair, i got mine for a good deal as well. that shoe has so many qualities that make it such a dope shoe. stitched swoosh, tumbled leather, unique cw, satin liner, dope shape... boom.

doodadee - nice black / washed green hi-top!!

I have same problem with left shoe.

How can I try to whiten my hi-top?

You already know how I feel about those, doodadee!!

Yeah - he originally listed it at $600.

$300 isn't out to lunch, but I can see why people weren't lining up to gobble them up at that price.

I use this - http://www.restoremysneakers.com/sauce

You can also make the mixture yourself, if you are so inclined.

If you want to try it, you probably should email the dude first - not sure if he ships internationally.

More heel stripes.

I knew there was a white-columbia blue 2000 that went with
the hoop orange, silver, red, and burnt olive. Just had to dig
in the archives.

early 2000 White-Columbia Blue low (cotton lining)
late 2000 White-White-University Gold low (silk lining)
2001 White-Grey Slate-Anthracite EURO mid
2001 White-White Olive Bronze EURO mid
2000 White-White-College Orange mid

The pic of the university gold is tough to see the heel stripe, but it's there.

One more .

2000 White-White-Varsity Red mid

There was also a white-white-royal blue mid that released at the same time...
but that color did not receive the heel stripe treatment. Random stuff like that
is what makes the AF1 heritage so unique and unusual.

Awesome info, Erv!!

I know some of you guys have attempted to collate pics of rare forces before on blogs and stuff, but has there ever been an attempt to actually compile a database with real pics, style #s, colorways, etc. by year?

Between pairs that we all own, plus I'm sure we all have ample reference pics saved, we could probably put together a real resource. ...We could probably do it in a way that's along the google docs model, which would allow each person to go in, add pics if they have pics of pairs that aren't included, and people could fill in the fields for each pair as they know them.

We could start even by taking the stock pics from flightclub archive, skit, and the 1thology, and then just replace them with pics of personal pairs when needed.

We could make it as public or private as we want, if we use something along lines of the google doc - you essentially have to be invited to the doc - anybody who contributes gets access.

Just throwing out an seedling of an idea.

Good idea Bip.

I have 2 databases stored locally and backed up.

One is an excel sheet broke out by year and style (low, mid, high).
It only goes up to 2000. It includes product numbers and actual
color names. There are places where some info is missing though.
E.G. I might have the color name but I might be missing the product number...
or vice versa.

The second database is a photo archive. It is also categorized by year and style.
I extended it out to 2001. I am in the process of cleaning it up and renaming
everything properly.

This is a work in progress since '98.

If you only knew how many hours I've spent searching and scouring the web looking for rare pairs.
Unfortunately, as we get further and further away from the 90s, there is less and less
chances of finding visuals, let alone pairs available to buy.

Here is a screenshot of the excel sheet so you guys will have an idea of how it's laid out.
Notice the tabs at the bottom.

Wow. That's a fantastic resource. All I have is a folder of pics, most of which are poorly labeled, in addition to all the info on the boxes and stuff from the pairs in my collection.

I'd completely understand if you wouldn't want to share the DB, given the amount of work you've put into creating it. But, if there are ways you think we can help expand it, format info, or fill in missing fields, I know that I, for one, would be willing to volunteer some time toward that project.

erv that is truly amazing... big props for being such a dedicated collector all these years

#29 has been a grail of mine since i first started collecting. A sample obsidian jewel was on ebay a while ago but stayed away because of yellowing. I THINK prymone has a pair of #29 though

ERVIN... have you compared your list to Ruffins?

Thanks for the link. I think I already scanned through this list and gleaned what I could a few years ago.

lemme know is i have anything i can take pics of for you guys. they're all in storage here at work but i can dig them out slowly for pics if needed.
