does anyone here have experience with book scanning/magazine scanning? these would be a good resource for everyone here if i could just figure out a cheap and easy way to go about it.

I was afraid of that too, i actually have my first pair of air force 1 next to the window. Ill post up pics of how yellow they are. I still keep them around for sentimental reasons

be aware those have this really funky texture to the leather. I'd hate for you to put in a lot of work to get them only to get them and find out that they're kind of weird.
 
In the midst of a really hectic day at work, I got a package that helped cheer me up (a lesser man would "pause" himself on that statement.)

These look a bit faded in the pic, but they are not.

To my surprise, they aren't on there. I have typed up the serial number, style number, color, series, everything and no luck

Really? What do they feel like compared to other air force?
They remind me of the 93' purple highs but in a mid top version
 
BenDover, as mints already stated these come with a textured leather (imo a poor imitation of the otherwise nicely texdured epi leather - often used by LV for examplre - here's a close up pic):

just recently got in a 3rd pair of courirs (the bottom pair is pretty much dead though):
