Your sleeper playoff team in the N.F.L?

I forgot to add my picks...

Vikes, we run the ball well and defend the run well. Plus we haven't been turning the ball over.
And I'd say the Bucs. They don't turn the ball over, they can run the ball well, and are playing well all around.

ehh it really all depends on the matchups. certain teams just don't matchup well with other teams. i still think INDY is being overlooked and in IMO hasthe best team to beat NE. at the end of the day i think the final four will be Indy v. NE and Dallas v. GB.

I only wish that he did get fired.

I have to stick by my team no matter what as much as I dislike Rivers and Norv. If the Chargers play Cleveland in the Wildcard we should be able to take that.I really don't want to see J-Ville. If we ever see the Pats again in the Postseason, I'm going to Church everday leading up to that game.
Norv knows how to coach in the playoffs ...

Cosign.

Vikings/********/Saints...whoever gets that last NFC wildcard spot.

******** could EASILY (& should be) 10-4 right now, if not better. if they could just hold a lead, they'd be 12-2. but they've gotta beat theVikings on the road and they've got the Cowboys just to get in.

Vikes and Saints are both hot right now.

the NFC is a lot more unstable than the AFC, so there's bound to be an upset or 2.

What are they going to do this year? They couldn't do it last year when they had a better defense.
the defense is actually playing better now if you ask me. the full season stats don't tell the whole story, but the defense has been playinggreat football for the past few weeks. ted cottrell has been letting shawne merriman and shaun phillips loose and rushing the passer more often than not.antonio cromartie starting on the right side of the field opposite quentin jammer has greatly improved the secondary and helped the team to force moreturnovers [cro breaking the team record for INTs with his 10th yesterday afternoon]. matt wilhelm has become healthy and has been playing much better inreplacing donnie edwards. backup safety eric weddle [who should be starting over mccree or hart, take your pick] has been covering the pass well and has beengood in situational pass rushing. drayton florence has flourished in the nickel role ever since cromartie took his spot in the starting lineup, not to mentionthat florence being in the game less also lessens the chance of him making the refs throw a stupid personal foul flag.

the chargers defense will only get better once luis castillo comes back from injury.

if anything, the players have finally bought into norv turner's system and playcalling. the offense has been executing, the defense has been improvingrapidly, and the special teams play is probably the most underrated aspect of the chargers.

i don't consider the chargers a sleeper team to be honest. they're just getting hot at the right time.

and for that reason, i don't consider the jaguars a sleeper either. even though the pats are favored to win it all, any team in the AFC playoffs couldrealistically go to the super bowl. the pats, colts, steelers, chargers, and jaguars could beat any team in the league when at their best in my opinion. samegoes with the packers and cowboys in the NFC.

if there's any team that's a sleeper, i think it's the tampa bay buccaneers. they run the ball well with earnest graham, their passing game hasbeen efficient with their ageless wonders in jeff garcia and joey galloway, and the defense has been playing like the tampa bay defense that used to be fearedand respected [2nd in the league in points allowed/game, 3rd in the league in yards allowed/game]. the saints are a possibility too, but i don't trust thatdefense at all..

Norv can't coach anything to save his life. He's counting his blessings for the Chargers to even be in the playoffs.

to be fair, i was pissed when we hired norv turner.

but i think he's done a great job this season all things considered. the players had to go through a transitional period this season with a new coachingstaff, they had to go through all of the offseason turmoil with marty schottenheimer and aj smith, as well as having to play a first place schedule this season[as opposed to the THIRD PLACE schedule from last year]. norv had to go through hearing those "MARTY!" chants and tons of fan criticism yet he'sgotten this team into the playoffs and potentially has us going into the playoffs as a #3 seed if the team wins out. no one could have expected this team torepeat a 14-2 season. now that the team is winning, i don't think norv is getting his due, but when the team was losing people were calling for his head.call him a trash coach if you want, but he has the chargers in the playoffs and playing the way that most anyone expected them to..

Youngins? Homie I'm 26. I know the deal with Norv.

I'll give him the fact he's a great offensive coordinator. But don't get offensive coordinator and Head Coach twisted. He inherited a great team.

being the o coordinator of a super bowl winning team > being the head coach of a playoff team ... bottom line ... the only reason dude from thechargers got norv is for his post season experience ... and we will all see in the playoffs what that is worth ... I wasnt saying anything about norv as a headcoach i was just stating that he has been there before and the dude i was replying to probably wasnt alive to see what he was in the good ole days ... ill takea great offensive mind who has won super bowls but not so good of a motivator any day ... brian billick was good until his qb started playing like a bum sopeople need to relax on the ravens ... bottom line, any team that puts its faith in a qb and that qb fails, they are gonna suck

I hope you weren't referring to me because I'm 5 years older than you according to your profile.

to be fair, norv has a better winning percentage in the playoffs than marty schottenheimer does at .500
Come on now D.W.A.I., how you gonna throw that stat out like that? That stat is definitely in favor of your argument, percentage wise.

Of course Norv has a better winning percentage. He's only been there once as a head coach and won one game as a head coach. I'll take Marty'sappearances in the playoffs over that. At least he took the browns to the AFC Championship twice.

So why weren't the Dallas Cowboys dumping Gatorade on Norv Turner instead of JJ? Get out of here with that.

The only reason why AJ Smith picked up Norv Turner was because he was the best possible option to AJ Smith's needs. AJ Smith wanted a yes man, and he got ayes man. Also, his playbook is what Marty's playbook was based on. Norv was the offensive coordinator for the Chargers back in 2001. So it's safe to gowith a coach who's playbook provides continuity for the players. Nothing really needed to be changed. It's easier for the players to adapt to it giveor a take few minor differences. Get out of here with that post season experience bullcrap.

Chargers are the sleeper team. The problem is they don't know how to play consistent. If they are on their game, they can beat anybody.
