I'm telling you guys, Randy Shannon isn't gonna let the talent out of his sights when it comes to the HS's in Miami. He's been in the UM systemtoo long to let them just walk away and he relates to them too much to let them go to other schools. This class is pretty damn good considering the season wejust had. This man can recruit! Only thing left is for them to develop and play at the college level. lowslows.....can you hook me up with a sig?

Yea Bryce put on a Miami hat too.
UM already had a solid set of LB'scommited, now with AB that whole class is just ridiculous. Shannon has no excuses for not winning the next few years.

Michael Barrow hire is paying dividends. Dude is a recruiting monster.
And UNC fans should be happy to even be considered. From laughing stock to a finalist for one of the best players in the country is a long way to go. Tar Heelswill only get better with Butch Davis running things.
After BH commits, I'll be happy if we could just sign some more OLs and DLs to top this class off.

They're good, but having gone to a few of their games this year, I will say they are playing against very sub-par competition in the city league. And thelocal consensus on them seems to be that they're whiners (mainly the younger one). I haven't seen it though.

^ whoa. i heard something to that extent of using Sean Taylors death to try to scare recruits but i didnt think he actually did it. WOW thats totally uncalledfor. We just need a couple more recruits to commit and i think this class is gonna be something special next year and the year after.

Several coaches pitched the safety angle to those Miami kids after ST's death, don't just single out BD. And those kids Butch was after down there hadalready visited UNC before all that went down. Coaches use shady recruiting tactics like that all the time. It's not right but it's part of the game.

I know Butch isn't the only one doing it and I knew other coaches were going to be using that angle. Doc Holliday's also currently doing it and Amatodid it back in the 90's. The problem I have with Butch doing it is he was on the other side of the same situation back when he was at UM. He had coachesthat were recruiting against him using Marlin's death as a tactic against him. It's no secret Butch was PISSED when these coaches were doing it and dideverything he could to fix the image. He was quick to talk about how those coaches were classless. Now he's the one doing it? Especially using Sean, aplayer he briefly recruited and went straight from Sean's funeral to the high schools trying to use Sean's death to his advantage. Can't sayi'm too suprised, Butch has done a lot of things through the years, at Miami and with the Browns where he's shown to be a true%%*!.

I wish nothing but the worst for Butch and UNC. The little respect I had left for Butch went out the window with way he's trying to exploit Sean Taylor's death to his advantage. The day he goes to Sean's funeral he turns around and heads to schools like NW where he knows he doesn't have a chance of landing any of their players and tells them not to go to UM because of what happened to ST? Straight up !$++# move, especially since he knows what it feels like when he had to go through something similar with what happened to Marlin Barnes.

Coach Walt at MCC said Butch was telling kids its like an "escape", a possible way out,
I know it seems like a %@$!% move, Its very questionable, but IMO he's trying to let kids know, U dont have to stay in the same environment where u cantalways avoid situations. I think the timing is a lil off, but Timing is always bad when a death of one of the best area products us involved

Forston, who is slowly becoming a bit of a UM fan favorite through this recruiting process because of some of his comments, hit me with some great lines Tuesday when I asked him about what opposing coaches were telling him to try to sway him from The U. Forston said many opposing coaches are trying to put down Miami's facilities, they bring up safety, the shooting deaths of Pata and Sean Taylor, the current losing going on and the future of Randy Shannon as coach. Forston, though, isn't buying any of it. And he's even got a nickname for Holliday -- "Snake Eyes."
"Like I said before and I'll say it again even though they don't care, I'm committed to the Hurricanes. That's the first thing I tell them. The things the tell me is how big their facilities are. How they got a stadium on their campus. How they got an academic building inside the stadium. But that doesn't matter to me. It's the coaching staff around you and the work ethic that's built in you that's going to get you to the next level, not no facilities. The University of Miami might have two whirlpools and the next one might have six, but it's still doing the same job.
"The worst thing anybody said was how Miami is not a safe environment. But they don't know where I stay at. I live in the Pork 'N Beans projects, Liberty City housing. It can't get no worse than that. So, I tell them, if I can stay out of trouble around there, how am I going to get in trouble in Coral Gables? You can take me to hell and I'll find a way to get out of that."
