--[ TOP GEAR U.K SERIES 24 Started Mar. 6 ]--[The GRAND TOUR ]

I would think it's because they're the 1st ones to do it like that and have been around the longest thus enabling them to gather a bigger audience. This doesn't mean the show can't be tweaked with a new cast while keeping the same style.

Is the problem really that people care more for the interaction between 3 British old men than the car reviews?

For me it is their interaction. I watched the American one and it's trash, they just aren't funny at all. JC, JM, and the hampster are perfect for these roles. While TG is a much older show than the 3 of them doing it together, it didn't blow up as much as it did until it was just the 3 of them. I can see what you're saying, but chemistry to harder to have than anything else. It just can't be forced.

Can't be hard to find 3 new British fatsos to take over since driving skills aren't a requirement.

All the producers have to do is use the same format/style and bingo.

Driving skill is important. Richard and Jeremy are definitely better than most people with a license. They just dont have to be F1 level drivers.

No its not because they are the first. it's because they are by far the best. If that was the case the British Office should be more popular than the American one, all those reality TV shows (Undercover Boss, Big Brother, Celebrity Fit Club, etc) wouldnt need American versions. etc etc etc

The interaction between the three is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Everyone else has tried and failed. Only knockoff I tried to watch was 5th gear and that was absolute trash. American and Australian Top Gear must be complete buns.

^^ to be fair, 5th gear is more of a gearhead show. They're concerned with realistic daily driving.

They don't try and even compete with Top Gear.

I think its official. End of an era, BBC to announce tomorrow of Clarkson's departure, and

"According to well-placed sources, senior BBC executives are hoping that Chris Evans, the Radio 2 Breakfast Show host and self-confessed "petrol-head", will agree to take over."

SMH

This is like Charles Barkley leaving TNT it wont be the same :smh:

Hopefully one of the major TV Networks picks them up.

I'm just gonna wait till the announcement is made whether or not they keep him. I'm not trusting any "reliable sources" for this.

just accept it b. jc faded some producer so the world will have to catch a L.

i read netflix, but idk if netflix is about that Top Gear budget life :nerd: :nerd:

Im not sure what it is that netflix couldnt afford? They dont buy the cars. The manufacturers lend it to them and they have to give it back.

hmmm, do you guys think HBO would pick them up?

crazy potential for anybody, but might have to relocate to the states....

Doubt it. They'd have to stay in the UK for it to be entertaining still, plus there's the US Top Gear which is complete garbage from the 2 episodes I've seen.
