1. kobe- best player in the nba hands down
2. lebron- the future...obviously coasted last year regular season not doing it again.. hes killin right now.. some could argue hes the best.
3. Tim duncan- winner, and the best pf of all time, he has this spot over kg because 1. he won last year and 2. he won last year.
4. kevin garnett- Former mvp playing motivated and with passion once again. You can tell hes happy. One of the best all around players of alltime.
5. Dwight howard- BEAST....
6. Steve nash - has there ever been a player who could use both hands as well as nash can? unbelievable passer, shooter, needs to step it up on d though.
7. Allen Iverson- A.I... i wish he was higher, and if it was 01 he would be but the league has soo much talent now.. at 32 hes still one of the best... slowingdown??? i think not.
8. Dwyane Wade- Remember hes not even fully healthy yet. this is the same guy who carried miami on his back years before.
9. Carlos Boozer- A chance at 25 and 12 this year. horrible shot blocker, but one of the nicest touches and softest hands in the league. Cleveland is cryingright now.
10. Chris Paul- the next zeke??? and not in the ny knicks bad way i mean detroit zeke. Penetrates at will, creates shots constantly and scores when he wants 2.
11. Gilbert Arenas- Gil is a competitor. He'll be back.
12. Dirk- not impressed at all this year. hes soft. he doesnt have "it" like the other stars do, but his talent at 7 feet carries him a long way.
13. Carmelo Anthony- scoring just comes so easy to him. He needs to start shooting better, but he does have the nastiest mid range in the game. He needs to getthat jab step to the shot back, instead of these lousy turnarounds.
14. Elton Brand- injured- but elton is elton- consistency every night.
15. Deron Williams- Williams or paul? i think paul, but deron can ball out. very big for a point guard, great vision, swagger, can take over a game.
16. Jason Kidd- not where he was defensively years before, but hes a triple double waiting to happen still. Would be higher, but too much turmoil in new jerseyand im sure he could be playing better if he was on another team.
17. Amare- a Freak, but cant play d.. and is a liability sometimes. still though... a freak
18. Baron - a warrior (in every way possible and literally), steps up in crunch time, loves to play, impossible to guard. higher than tmac cuz he beat tmac ina series with the hornets
19. Tmac- get out of the damn first round
20. Chris Bosh- soft touch, can be great, but we still see hes not there yet when he plays garnett and gets picked apart
21. Yao Ming- where is the yao from last year ?
22. Paul Pierce- still unstoppable when he wants to be. but does not deserve to be any higher.
23. Tony parker
24. Michael Redd/Manu- i had to put both of them. one is a flat out shooter who can score score score, the other can do everything and according to poppavichis the most competitive guy hes ever had on a team.
25. Shawn Marion- unhappy, whiny , but still great all around, and a can guard from 1-5.

Caron butler does not make this list. Give me 3-4 straight years of those exact numbers and then he'd make it over title winners, and consistent 23 a gamescorers

left out- Vince, joe johnson, josh howard, caron butler, all the pistons, brandon roy, deng, Ray allen (i know hate me for it), Rashard lewis, rj, kaman, alljefferson

Wow no Caron Butler? 22 ppg 7 rpg 4 apg 2 spg 50 FG % 44 3p % 80 FT %

Plus Wade is way too high on that list

like i said wade is injured. dont forget what hes capable of... and yah caron was tough to leave out, but who would i put him over? hes having a great yearthis year, but its only been a quarter of a season,

how do you leave out Butler?
smh.gif

league pass is my best friend, ive watched multiple games of all these guys and yah caron was an allstar last year, but i still think those other guys are moreworthy. if caron puts these numbers up over an entire year then yes he'd make my list, but its still early. Al is not too high, 26 and 8?? thats justright. If your biggest objection is caron not making it, then i think the list is quite fine compared to others. NBA top 50 leaved out nique now thats a lotworse

I dont know how i would justify it to myself to put A.i lower.

has he slowed down? nope
have his numbers gone down? not really some have gone up aka fg %, assists.
who would i put ahead of him? maybe chris paul but thats still too early

shawn does too much of everything for me to leave him out, i know you guys want me to put caron in there, but thats just my opinion. I wanted others to maketheir own lists as well, or give me justified reasons as to why certain players should be higher, or lower, but with reason

You lost points right away stating that Kobe Bryant is the "best player in NBA hands down" when thats obviously too bold a statement.

marcus camby did not even cross my mind and Kobe is the best player in the league hands down. I think thats pretty much accepted in the basketball circles.Lebron is gonna get there, just not yet. If we are talking about a quarter season so far, then yes lebron has played the best, but hes not the best

yah you could make an argument for both. Camby should not make the top 25, maybe on the outside looking in and I failed to mention him there. I did most ofthose guys in a rush.

Josh smith has to be wayyyy more consistent. Shooting 40% and turning it over tons does not make him top 25. Defensively though, hes a beast, of course, I justdont know who i could put him over in that list

Right now, I think KG is the best player in the NBA.

Hollinger's formula says it is Lebron. It also says Boozer is 2 and Ginobili is 4.

I can't put Boozer so high because in the Sloan offense he does nothing without Deron Williams. Deron brings it nights with Booz and the inevitable nightswithout Booz.

Chris Paul is #3 in PER. Can you imagine how the Hornets would perform without Paul? I think the Suns would still compete with Nash, but the Hornets would beplain awful with Paul.

I don't know where I'd place Kobe. He certainly would make the top 5, but I don't think he is the best player. The best player must make theplayers around him elevate their games. The best player must be a leader.

ginobili doesnt start for a reason: its called strategy. If you think finley is really better than him your crazy.

and there are no excuses for leaving butler off that list, just reasons and i gave them. Its not all about numbers my friend

hollinger is an idiot. i dont buy PER for a second. Yah joakim noah should be rookie of the year... thanks hollinger

If Tim Duncan is not your #1 player then your list goes down the pipe.. How is Kobe over him.. Let alone Lebron!!!! You can't put "The Future" at#2 ..

As good as Butler is playing right now I would also hesitate to say he's top 25 material. Maybe over Redd but that's about it......

I mean, but you're telling me Joe Johnson has been more consistent thus far than Josh Smith? What basketball are you watching guy? Josh has carried theteam, Joe just started coming along the past 5 games.

what has manu done to be on that list then, besides play on a championship team? he has never come close to those numbers in his life. Ginobli doesn't even start

IF we're gonna be goin on stats (which we all know can only go so far), ..... although I don't necessarily disagree that Caron should be above Manu, using that argument is misleading.

Caron plays 40 mins/game on average. You can check out Manu's per40 minute averages for the last few years here: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/ginobma01.html
Per 40 minutes a game last year Manu had 24.1ppg, 6.3rpg, 5.1 apg, 2.1spg.
The year before he had 21.6ppg, 5.1rpg, 5.2apg, 2.2spg per 40.
The year before that he had 21.6pg, 6.0rpg, 5.3apg, 2.2spg per 40.
All on 46%+ fg shooting and nearly 40% 3p shooting each year.

Clearly, in the time he's out there he IS putting up big numbers. But this isn't a case of "well if he was good enough for 40 minutes per game, heWOULD be playing more minutes". It's no secret at all that Popovich has a very particular strategy for giving out minutes to stars. Might as well sayTim Duncan is a mediocre because he's only averaging 18 and 9 this year (and ignore that it's coming in only 30 mins/game).

Again, not saying I necessarily disagree with your "manu vs. caron" assessment (i could go either way on it), but that particular argument isn'treally a fair one.

i dont know what your talkin about bro, i didnt put joe johnson on my top 25... settle down... the outside lookin in guys were just typed fast, i didnt spendtime to see who didnt make my list.

i know as much about the hawks situation as you do, and i know how inconsistent joe johnson has been this year.... word to lang whitaker

^haha couldnt decide between manu or redd so i included them both. quite simple really took the easy way out
