SEATTLE SEAHAWKS THREAD

651akathePaul, Niketalk: Intangibles. And some of you say you don't believe in that. Rubbish. This kid defines it. I already knew Russell Wilson would be good and you can dig up old threads for proof. His offensive line was mammoth at Wisconsin and in size, comparable to an NFL line so he's no stranger to throwing over a wall. One of the best ways to combat that is with your release point. With Russell, he’s got almost an over exaggerated overhand delivery that gives the ball a very high release point and the trajectory of the ball is on a plane that zips over the line. This alone is huge, but what makes him even more successful for being a short guy is taking a page directly from the Drew Brees quarterback manual. His depth on his drop back is usually two or more yards deeper than what you’ll see from “protypical” quarterbacks. A deeper first drop step leads to more distance created between the line and him. This invariably creates the space needed to have the vision to see the field a lot better than someone like Flutie, who always had to rollout or change his release points and arm angles to create his own window. Not to say that there won’t be a plethora of rollouts because as you see with Brees, shorter quarterbacks still like to create even more space in the open field and when you have an athlete and dynamic playmaker like Russell, it just adds that much more spice to your passing attack. There are really only good things to say about Wilson at this point. His arm strength is in the plus category. His hands are huge so if you’re worried about fumbles, it’s probably a non-issue. Moxy…He’s got it. Russell stepped right into a leader capacity. Communicated with receivers on what he wanted them do. His quick study of the Badger playbook proved to be invaluable because he’s done the same with Bevell's playbook. Obviously he’s extremely intelligent. I’m really high on Russell and my evaluations back that up. It is no whim. I trust my opinion. You’ll see some mistakes from Wilson, but you may not seem them twice. If you don’t believe the things I’ve said then just watch and see for yourself. This kid is the real deal.

A little bit longer, but had a lot to say.
Guess you and this guy were ahead of the curve (along with some others)
Love this pick. He is a top 5 selection at quarterback but for 3 inches in height. I have him rated at 35 overall in this draft and he has everything you could want in a NFL QB. Tremendous value. Everything on the field and everything off the field. Tremendous pick.

Grade A+
I thought Wilson could be good down the road but not this quick. I def. wanted Flynn to start the season off especially during the Panthers game when I said I'm ready for Flynn

Funny to see how many people Russell proved wrong...this damn fast . NFL Network had a good quote from Max about how fast he picks things up and executes it as well throughout this season. He's showed it without a doubt
Don't know if its been posted but have you guys seen that cloud picture that was on the Seahawks twitter?

**** was ill

Very bad news for #Seahawks RT @RapSheet: Doctors believe DE Chris Clemons has a torn ACL, agent Donal Henderson told me. MRI in morning.

He did which was probably one of the most surprising things about the game today. He's been good and very streaky, and theres been games where he was invisible from start to finish...but when Clem went down the ENTIRE d-line led by Bruce and Branch took over. I hadn't seen a game where he was at the very least getting pressure on the QB nearly every single play. #FeelsJohnGoodman

Encouraging news for next week..we're gonna need to bring the heat on Matty Ice all game long.

congrats to the seahawks brehs!!!

fun and entertaining game to watch. i got you guys going all the way to the superbowl and not getting ****** by the refs and finally winning a chip!! :pimp:

I lived in Seattle for about five years mad long ago. Seen a few games at the Kingdome. Happy to see this team winning and looking like a real problem. Congratulations to y'all, I think y'all will beat Atlanta as well. The town deserves this after they got robbed of their Sonics. It's a good sports town. Been to mad Yankees and Mariners games there also. Good luck to y'all.

1 of the guys on this episode of The SitDown , local talk show I sponsor, voted for Russell Wilson. Figured you guys would enjoy hearing his argument

Echoing those sentiments as well.

I actually enjoy watching your team play and love the physicality of the DBs.

I hope yall wash ATL so we can get a Sea vs GB/49ers NFCC game next week.

*FWIW....Russell Wilson has my vote for OROY. He did it for a full 16 and his last 7 or 8 games, he REALLY stepped it up.

Sorry our field ended Chris Clemons' year, it's a damn shame :smh: Clemons is a good dude, I met him on the field before the MNF game the Skins played against the Eagles in '04. He had two sacks that game and never really played a lot for us after that which I'll never understand why.

Skins fans don't just love their team, they love football and know it. Every ******** I've spoken to in person are knowledgeable and humble. I know who to pull for in the NFC East from this point forward...

I'm stoked about the Hawks though, SMH every time I see them rock the striped beanies because they're all sold out now... I was going to buy em in September, but it was still in the 90's here in Central Cali..

Well, he has been out for the full year, but he did have a pretty decent year for Minnesota last year. Always reliable and consistent.
