SEATTLE SEAHAWKS THREAD

Browner will be the starter if he comes back. He is to big to not be playing the big guys lining up outside. Also don't forget about lane. Dude is the smallest guy out there and making really good open field tackles.

That article regarding Thurmond not being here makes a little bit more sense now.

still wouldnt give him up though

I'd probably take a healthy (and purp free) WT3 over all

With Petes whole mantra of 'compete' I don't think he'd just hand over the job to Browner especially with how well Maxwell been in his absence. He'll probably go with his typical "ease him back into things" route with him seeing spot duty until he solidifies himself as the starter again or Maxwell runs away with it and doesnt look back.

Long term I think this entire situation bodes well for BB, should his suspension not stand, I think they'd get more value from re-signing him to a smaller multi year deal as opposed to someone like Thurmond who might have his value slightly inflated and ends up with a more lucrative deal from someone else.

I saw this in the Times. Great article.

Based on their analytics they rank us the 4th-based pass D of all time.

Best is SB Bucs.

Amazing to see, isn't it? There isn't a better match for Pete than John Schneider. Their eye for talent, even in the late rounds, is impeccable. Sure they've missed on some guys here and there but their hits especially late have been 450FT home runs.

Browner loses appeal. Out indefinitely. League claims he was notified of testing while out of the league (which is still absolutely the dumbest rule in existence).

what's everyone's take on this? I'm a Seahawks fan and I have to believe what Browner is saying that he is innocent. Any opposers? and why?

All I can really say is that I'm a huge fan of Browner for what he's done for us and what he's come through, and I'm sad to see that his time with the Seahawks might be over..,

He's not really saying hes innocent! he's arguing the fact that he was bumped to stage 3 when he didnt test positive after his first test which would put him at stage 2 right now! the NFL is saying he didnt continue his tests, even though he was notified while being out of the league and playing in the CFL!

Dont know or care whether he tested positive for marijuana or if he received the notifications while in the CFL, like most would agree the policy they have in place for situations like this is asinine.

really interested to see how this plays out in federal court...I assume he'll go that route

It sucks seeing this happen to him since he has such a good story and is a great player. I do think the rule in place is stupid but he still knew what he was doing and screwed up.
I do believe he has hurt our team more than help it this year. He's a major liability on third down and maxwell and Thurmond have proven to be just as good if not better.
I do wish him the best though with this and the rest of his career

  They go from a 1 year ban to offering a reduced suspension and now it's an indefinite suspension

Paul Allen guwop on the way to the rescure

He's facing the same suspension he was originally. There's no such thing as a "one-year ban". The NFL institutes an indefinite ban, which can be reviewed after one year. The fact the NFL even caved a bit in the first place is telling. They softened up, Browner played hardball, now the NFL is playing hardball right back. It's going to court, and it's going to get ugly. Labor lawyers are going to licking their chops over this one.

Browner filing a second appeal. Wish he would have just taken the deal the NFL originally offered. Hopefully he beats the case so that he can have a NFL career somewhere.

And how the hell do the Hawks lose Browner and Thurmmond, and not lose a step? I'm convinced that this team could take a bagger from Safeway and put them in the secondary and no one would know the difference.

I used to bag for safeway. where do I sign up?

If he takes the deal he's no longer a Seahawk anyways

Dont blame him for not taking..he probably didnt take it because his lawyer knows he will probably eat off the NFL in a higher court

So my wife wants to get me playoff tickets for Christmas...

Being from the Bay, can anyone here help me with that? And honestly guys, do you think it would be worth it to spend on plane tickets, hotel, playoff tickets, etc considering how much all that will cost? She literally brought this up to me last night, and I immediately thought about how much it will hurt our pockets, but she hit me with the "it will be so worth it, when can you do this again" speech. I love her to death for wanting to do this, and I told her how easier (cheaper) it would be if we lived in Seattle, but theres so many other things to think about besides just even getting playoff tickets. What do you guys think?

It would be so easy to say hell yea, screw it, whatever it costs! But being newlyweds, planning on starting a fam, buying a house, etc. the man-of-the-house/provider/put food on the table voice started to go off in my head when thinking about the costs! :smh:

Good luck trying to get them when they go on sale. unless you want to pay 400+ to get a nosebleed

Yea, we already anticipated paying an obnoxious price. Considering the SF vs. Seattle regular season game here went for 300+, we weren't considering anything less!
