I don't think theres much the team can do now, to be honest. It'd be easy to go to a quick passing game but that would require your WR's to get separation and do damage after the catch. Cooped with Russell being as off has he's been as of late it wouldn't work imo. For as much as the team depends on a blocking TE, it's KILLING them that the backup is a guy who can't block nor can he catch. It is encouraging to see Lynch have the game he did have. Things should shore up with Okung and Unger on the mend but as long as they keep finding ways to win I'll take it.

For me, the narrative has always been Cable gets the pick of the litter when drafting/evaluating OLine and they havent been too good in that area imo... *cough* Carp *cough*

Maybe that blame should go to Pete and JS as well though

As far as development, that feels to be somewhat lacking across the board

I cant knock him for the injuries though, cant remember when everyone has been healthy.

But I still feel this FO has missed too many times in regards to evaluating Line talent

I get they look for run block over pass protecting, but they're not world beaters in the run game either tbh

It's tough to gauge where Cable stands at the moment and I think it's easy to point at the state of the O-line now and then point the finger to Cable. Although on the other side he was brought in because of his ability to get an O-line to run block and knowledge of the zone blocking system, and when you draft guys that fit that mold only it's going to cost you in other areas. Thats why when the team drafts an O-lineman, it's always like "who?" Cable likes to take 'his' guys and develop them...it's worked some and it's backfired on him as well.

Also lets not kid ourselves Russ can hold onto the ball for too long every once in a while.

Russ does compound the issue at times running into pressure and bailing too early at times or holding onto the ball.

I went to bed at halftime...

Need to catch some highlights!

I was at the game
Willson couldn't catch a STD if he went in raw
Wilson was off
the Line sucks
Defense looked improved despite the key losses

Not even gonna post this stuff in the NFL thread, but some stats that seems a little surprising:

Seahawks 4th in total defense, 4th in rushing defense, 6th in passing. Still #1 in rushing yards per attempt (better than last year, too).

Richard Sherman is the #2 rated CB in the NFL and has second fewest targets this season.

This is why the number of points the Seahawks have allowed is a bit deceptive. It's not necessarily due entirely to bad defense. There have been a couple special teams TDs scored against them, and more short fields due to poor kick coverage (punts and kick offs) or even Wilson's INT against Denver, and terrible luck on turnovers (fumbles, mainly). Shows how a few bounces or a gadget play here and there is the difference between 7-1 and 5-3 (or even 4-4).

Anyone read Spike Friedman's game recaps? Definitely the most entertaining recaps, and he knows what he's talking about. He also writes for Grantland from time to time.

Never heard of him but that was a good read. I like his outlook on the rookies, im talking more Richardson and Britt. He noted he struggled in pass pro but excelled in run blocking vs OAK, I think he'll be nice with some more time. Just compared to where he was in the 1st pre season game to now he's progressing quickly but he does show his inexperience at times.

Richardson, though, looks real good on the field and seems to be able to catch the ball. Very fluid in his routes almost veteranish...reminding me of a young Emmanuel Sanders in that aspect. Cant wait to see if he could develop more routes and be active

Doug Baldwin missed practice today and is in danger of missing Sundays game.

I did forget he exited the game last week at the end.

Injuries are piling up like crazy this is ridiculous. Last year we were so damn fortunate with injuries it seems like it's only right they come back ten fold. Thank goodness we're 5-3 is what I say, though it could easily be better, for all the injuries and struggles the team endures now it all should be on the mend coming down the home stretch.

Wow if we go without Baldwin...  Our receiver core is going to be very strange out there.  That said, at least we're getting some defensive guys back, including Kam and Jeremy Lane.

We actually weren't that fortunate with injuries last year really, Unger and Okung were out most of the year along with various injuries on the rest of the line, Browner we basically lost for the season, Percy Harvin we lost for the season, etc.  We just had more depth at those positions.

Kevin Norwood has caught every ball in his direction this season. Just saying. A whopping total of 4 receptions.

P.Rich and Norwood have looked good when given the chance.

Up to Russ (and a healthy Oline) to put some trust in them and pull the trigger
