Official PC thread.

damn, pretty sure my external 1.5tb crapped out.
i hear the sound when it plugs in but it doesn't detect the hhd and i hear no sounds of the disk spinning at all. awesome!
might be time to get another hhd. would it be better to get a wd blue instead of the black.

I read that the new SimCity will be have an Always-Online requirement. I am going to wait a while before I purchase. Not a fan of Always-On gaming.

Not a fan of it either.
Even the saves will be stored online :smh:
Wonder how that'll effect the mod community.

After so much damn research I've finally settled on these upgrades.

i5-3570

Asrock z77 Extreme

Radeon HD 7870 - I was going to pull the trigger on the 660ti but after much research and advice it seems the 7870 performs a lot better and is $50 cheaper.

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16 GB (2 x 8GB)

Latest pickup:
700

Still can't play sports games without a controller.

Studying for this stupid A+ cert....

This is what a ribbon controller looks like.... This is a PC tower shell or sometimes considered a case....

When can we expect SSD's to be twice as big and cost half as much as they do now?

Next year.
Last year $100 would get you a 64gb ssd
Now you can get a 128gb one for $100
Hell I paid $140 for my 180gb Intel 330 after rebate a couple of months ago and now I'm seeing 240gb drives going for cheaper after rebate.
Tiger direct currently has an 80gb ssd for $40 after rebate

I'm looking for a laptop in the $400-600 range. I mainly will use it to surf the Web, listen to music and watch movies. Any suggestions?

I personally would spend the extra $20 on the AS4830T due to the better battery life, smaller size, free ram slot for additional memory, andUSB 3.0 port and more powerful processor.

The only pros of the AS5560 is that it has a bigger hard drive & is slightly better at gaming.

"They trying to drive me to Mac?" :\

Still don't get why they're doing this on a desktop. Mobile devices? Sure.

:smh:

But seriously, with the demand for more flash devices (especially in mobile devices), prices have (hopefully) no choice but to go down.
