Official PC thread.

Founders Edition suffers from a horrendous amount of throttling and it runs +- 150 MHz lower all the time.

Personally at that price range I'd look at 1440p monitors.

Can't go wrong with Asus or LG.

Any recommendations on 4k monitors in that price range? I personally couldn't find any, maybe I am just looking in the wrong places. I did see some in the mid 400s.

My only problem is I am not sure if my Windows desktop can run that resolution. I know my late 2012 i7 mac mini cant. I think the max is 2560x1800. Can 4k screens run at lowe resolutions if needed?

Finally narrowed my mobo search. I think I'll go with the MSI Gaming Intel Skylake B150 LGA 1151 DDR4 USB 3.1 Mini ITX Motherboard (B150I Gaming Pro AC) because it's the highest reviewed. I'd consider another mobo, if it has better value/features.

Here’s the motherboards I’m considering. Features that are important to me: good wi-fi, good bluetooth, good audio(if possible), 4 usb 3.0 ports,

Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel H170 Mini-ITX DDR4 Motherboard GA-H170N-WIFI $114

You're not gonna find a 4k monitor for $300.

Then again if you just need a monitor for work productivity a 1080p UW will be fine.

Ever consider just running dual 24" or something?

Ah gotcha I thought they were the same for some reason. I gotta do my research.

I have some old Dual 23" right now. But I wanted to go to a single monitor since my home desk isn't big (live in an apartment). I wanted to go UW since it would still give me the screen real estate with the smaller footprint. I guess what I am trying to do is reduce my workspace to 1 monitor, but still have the screen real estate. I am trying to sell my Dual Monitor setup right now. It actually is a really good setup. Two Dell Ultrasharp 23"s. In the end I may end up keeping it, and figuring our a way to hook up my man mini to dual as well.

Current setup. Windows to both DVI ports.

Mac mini to Thuderbolt to Display port.

Might have to switch my windows to 1 DVI and 1 VGA. and go Mac Mini 1 DP and 1 HDMI -> DVI

That AMD video card is looking attractive at $200. It's about time to build a new PC. Might cop one of the new Intel chips (the 6 core). I like the idea of the 10-core but I ain't paying $1,800.

To cop or not to cop:

I know which case I'm going to get, but I won't assemble the parts until the 480 drops.

Cooler Master Silencio 352 microATX Case

In about a week, I saw this case go from $77>$72>$63.

Cop now or wait for further price drops?

Is this the only case you're looking at?

$63 is already super cheap for a case.

I've looked at about 20 cases.

mitx or matx and silence are key for me.

My #2 choice is the

Corsair Carbide Series Air 240 for $80
