The Miami Heat (7-17) have won three of its last five, but the they are still struggling. They won at Phoenix on Dec. 10, but onMonday barely beat Minnesota, owner of the league's worst record, 91-87 at home.
The Heat shot a season-low 37.2 percent and weren't able to sustain an early lead. Miami jumped out to a 20-12 advantage after eight minutes, but went coldafter that and trailed by six at the break.
Udonis Haslem hit consecutive jumpers in the fourth quarter and Alonzo Mourning came up with three crucial rebounds and a tip-in during the final minute tocomplete the Heat's late rally against the 3-20 Timberwolves.

An Atlanta Hawks (12-12) victory would also give the Hawks a winning record after 20 or more games for the first time since1998-99, their last playoff season.
"We're trying to get to that level where we're ready to go against any team we face," forward Al Horford said.
Atlanta comes in having won two straight and five of seven, including a 116-111 victory over Utah on Monday. The Hawks shot 57.6 percent from the field - theirsecond-highest
percentage of the season - and went 36-for-50 from the free-throw line. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 26 points while Josh Smith added 18 points, 12 reboundsand five blocked shots.

Atlanta Keys: Stop D Wade. Don't let him get hot and start creating plays.
Stay out of foul trouble and offensive/defensive rebounds are key.

Miami Keys: Don't allow the Hawks bench to get hot. Get D Wadge going
early and have him never look back. Involve Shaq...You'll need him.

Hawks by 4. any predictions???

I know there are Heat fans in here!

They've been in hibernation since the season started.

I'd like to have this one for a 3-0 homestand. It would be nice to have this W to put a stamp on the SE division. We're 2-0 vs. Charlotte, 1-0 vs.Orlando, and could get to 2-0 vs. Miami tonight. (We're 0-1 vs. Washington, but have a chance to even that one up on Friday.)

...and with Orlando slipping (and having Houston/Utah/Boston next), it's not too late to make a move up.

I hope my Hawks can pull this off. I remember going to a game back in 89-99 when we were winning.

hawks have to roll when they come back out of the half... get things going early again.

as for alonzo that sucks really bad. sorry to hear but like bill walton just said...

"that knee buckle happened before any contact..."

edit: damn, the hawks are letting them come back into the game everytime they get a lead.
take it to the rim and stop getting cheap fouls!

Point blank misses, and the Hawks are killing the Heates in transistion everytime off them misses mayne...

^^ tell me about it.. its tied now!!!!! play your a s s off the last 2 minutes hawks please!

Probably won't since Wade has near 20 foul shots. That is the only way the Heat have a chance to win games this year.

Wade derserved every last one of them two. That first quarter he had like 10 because the Hawks got into the Bonus early, and he was just attacking.

And here comes two more. Straight hacked by Josh Smith...

Tie game.
