NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

SO jealous of the XOCO pick ups... I had a bit of a sinus cold earlier this week, so I actually haven't been in a beer store in about 8 days. It's a miracle. Wallet now a little fuller. I feel better. Maybe I'll kick this fun habit down a couple notches lol:D. Sitting at home sick, I realized I have a full fridge of random beers. Since there will be no XOCO this thanksgiving, I may have to bust through a couple stouts. Unsure how to go about this. Prairie Bomb, Parabola, Lagunitas High Westy, BA old rasputin from last years Black Friday release, Southern Tier Choklat, and a local brewery, Bosque, is releasing their Buffalo trace Bourbon barrel aged IRS tomorrow. That's not on top of random beers like Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest, which I thought was a good idea to buy just a couple weeks back. Even some Born Yesterday and SUcks is sorta collecting dust. I hate anything hoppy sitting for too long.

I usually hear something by now from a local beer store about Black Friday and GI BCBS. So far nothing. I remember dropping $120 on what amounted to a 12 pack of beer last year. I dont want them randomly dropping info expecting me to drop the same amount. It feels disrespectful. What about yall? Thanksgiving beer plans and/or black friday events?
I got to thinking about this post because I have some stuff sitting as well and I'm not too sure why. I am the only one that really is into craft beer in my family/friends circle. My sister and her BF enjoy it but not to my level which my level is still low compared to some of you all. With that said, I waited in line last year and got one of each of the BCBS and I believe the total about $120 as well. Not too sure I am going to do that again this year especially with it being a even more "rare" release. And I actually found a couple extra random 4 packs of the regular BC after the release. I have 2 12oz BCS & my Coconut left and I've been putting that coconut one off because I'm scared how good it's going to be

(and at times forgetting about it)
My local spot had just a couple of the BB left so I picked up a pack. Looking forward to trying it out. Gonna be a nice way to close out a long week tomorrow evening
My joint got in a couple cases of the Backwoods about a week ago and I ran up and got my two "per person". Stopped in a few days ago and they got quite a bit more in and now it's sitting out for the taking. Debating on getting more to hold on too. It's so good.

So I called the closest Binny's to me and asked if they had XOCO in and they said yeah. I asked how much because it's about a 40 min drive without traffic and they said a "healthy amount". I took a ride up there with my sister and they only got two cases and it was behind the counter and it was one per person. He gave me one and then I told my sister to snag one. Never had this before but I'm looking forward to it something fierce!

Also, anyone try that Watermelon Gose?! That sounds fantastic so I snagged one of them too. (I read a good review about that 24 carrot so I figured what the hell!)

I saw that 24 carrot and almost tried it but I got the impression it would be on the sweeter side so I left it for now. Let me know how it is i might still try it.

Backwoods Bastard there was only 3 of those 4-packs left. Don't know if there was a per customer limit. I held one in hand while I walked around and when I went back over to see about getting a second one the other two were being scooped up at that moment.

Didn't see Xoco anywhere but it seems like that spot near me is getting stuff a good week or so later than a lot of other places so maybe this weekend.

Also, has anyone tried this? I don't know if I'm brave enough to commit to a 7-pack of Guinness Nitro IPA. Just seems weird but you never know. My wife is from Ireland, and I told her about it, she seemed offended. She said "I will NEVER drink that..."

The broken skull IPA's I ordered shipped. Should be here tomorrow. The little kid in me is hyped.

My favorite review of it on BA:
This stuff makes bud light look like a finely crafted lager.

Speaking of Guinness, I had one at a bar a few weeks ago. Hadn't had one in about 3-4 years. I forgot how much I enjoyed it.

And I can't find that Briny Melons anywhere. Even my local TW that gets all the Anderson Valley stuff, said they are not even getting it.

been trying to find the Xoco and the Melon Gose

What's funny is that Watermelon Gose was at the very end of an isle just sitting on the floor with the flaps open with other **** piled around it. You literally have to open the box to see what was even in it. If you weren't paying attention you'd think it was just garbage. If it's good, which I assume it, I'm gonna run back up and snag a couple more if it's still there. I think there was only 3-4 missing from the 12.

Had a Xoco, extremely good! Even found another 6 pack so I'm set. Unfortunately the beer below stole the thunder from the Xoco and I feel like it didn't get a fair shake

This beer here...one of the most delicious, bourbon beers I've ever had. It's unbelievable at 14%....

This dragons milk deserves another post. For the love the God this is amazing
They only had one bottle left and I snagged it and I trying to sip it and make it last

Yeah, man. I feel it for sure. I had an Xoco before this and it was so good and then I cracked this thinking I'd drink it and move on to another Xoco but I have maybe a gulp left because I don't want it gone.

Dragon's Milk was my gateway into craft beer right at the end of college, lol. Tried the reserve raspberry, but wasn't a fan. Haven't been compelled to try any of the others after that. Anyways, here are today's pickups:

Had Mosaic Promise a few weeks ago at my local spot. Absolutely loved it. Very fresh IPA with an incredibly citrus/tropical nose. I've really been enjoying the lighter IPA's lately especially the new Oscar Blues and Lone Pint's Yellow Rose. I'm hesitant to grab the Higher Math at $10 per bottle in my area. I've read some pretty mixed reviews.

Finally got around to trying this tonight and was pleasantly surprised.

Had the oatmeal stout and colette. The oatmeal stout was OK. Probably wont seek it out again, but it wasn't bad either. roasted malt and black coffee is what I got. I liked the barney flats much more. The colette was interesting and was a good drink. I can't quite figure out the flavor of it.

I feel like a light weight. A local brewery released their first BBA imperial stout yesterday. This put me on my ##@ with the quickness

Aged in Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels for a year. At 80 IBUs, I still felt the bitterness. Maybe too much. Quite pricey too. It'll age real real nice though. It warmed up beautifully. At 10.2%, it didnt feel overly sweet, in fact the hops hide the alcohol burn as well. It went down way too smoothly. I then decided to open a growler of their Centential Single hopped pale ale, and consume that. Their Pale ales and IPAs are world class imho. Unfortunately, I don't remember much about that growler. Any of yall have some great beers and dont quite remember ? lol
