NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

^ Not that i'm aware of. Although, I've heard not all states have received their allotment yet. Keep checking your local bottleshops.

Man, I hardly remember that last post. I started around 11:30 when we got back from the city and had a couple miller lites. Then my buddy and I drank a big ole bottle of sake and the from there I went on a little tour thru my fridge. Haven't drank that much beer, let alone craft beer in a while. Usually I do one or the other, normal beer or my good stuff but yesterday was different. That Rumpkin did me in. Got a little thumpy I need to work on with some water

a bit of a shot in the dark...

anyone interested in the Stone Xocoveza let me know

i know i can get my hands on a full case but not certain if i'll be able to get a sixer...chances seem a bit slim for just a sixer or two which is all i really wanted

with that said, there's a spot that is holding a case in the back today if i'm gonna grab it after work and i would be willing to let the rest go for cost (case is $56 plus 6% sales tax)...can always work out something to get more stuff for you if wanted

just be aware of what shipping costs could be before you commit to anything

Local bottleshop makes "advent calendars" and I decided to pick one up along with a 6'er of Lagunitas Brown Shugga. Excited to see what all they included in the case!

^pretty much every AAL tastes like crap even at normal 40 degree serving temps. One needs to literally drink it right at the brink of it turning into ice. My biggest pet peeve, and i dont know if this makes me a beer douche but I hear many friends and family say that a certain place has the coldest taps or coldest beer in town. I mean I guess thats fine if you want that miller lite type stuff. But paying upwards of $4 for a pint seems ridiculous. Rarely do I seem to go out and get a pint of something normal. It's got to be on sale, happy hour, or something seasonal or unique. I guess I'm a packaged beer type of bulk buyer now.

Holiday shopping got the best of me

-Heard death of coconut released around me. Went for just 1 thing. -Decided on more born yesterday. The many sixers I bought were devoured. It had changed and I'm rellly liking what it had turned into. More of a dank onion type flavor. Hard to explain in beer terms lol.
-Felt like a solid lighter non imperial stout. Deschutes obsidian seems more readily available than barney flats.
-Saw that elevated was on sale. Frickin born yesterday. 8 should be enough for next couple days.
-Picked up some anchor steam beer for the pops.
-Throw in some backwoods B and FBS that I havent touched since buying more, I am thankful that I should be happily feasting on mainly beers the next few days.

And in what seems like it happening way too often now. I was not charged for one of the sixers. Clerk was being too nice talking and chatting with fellow employees, myself, and other customers. What are you gonna do. It didnt click until I realized the bill shouldve been like $45 instead of $34

^damn

Even cheap if they would have rang everything

Born yesterday is $12.99 at the grocery store...about the same at the local bottle shop give or take 50¢

I think I paid $12.99 for death by coconut which I thought was steep but don't have knowledge of anyplace other than my local bottle shop that got it so I ponied up

This explains a lot. I was at a store today that had a large lit sign that said "The coldest beer in town". I didn't get it till now. Yuengling has been my go-to cheapie(4 pints @ $3.79). Its OK. Yea I often don't bother getting beer at certain restaurants unless its a good deal or special.

Had to get the chub again. Looking forward to the other two.

Forgot to post about the New Belgium x Ben&Jerry beer, but it's a good beer. Dark ale with hints of caramel. Was not too overpowering. My nose smelled like caramel doe after I finished it

Random ramblings
Drinks on me tonight. Quick trip to the race track. Triple digit acore!

Fam needed some wine and cocktail mixers so I went to total wine this afternoon. Good excuse to check inventory.total madhouse. Overheard a distributor guy get asked about a beer called Heidi toppah. Obviously he meant heady topper. They all looked 100% puzzled. One said he never heard of it. They really need a dedicated beer person working there. Distributor workers may know their cache of items but they are just more along the lines of stock boys than informed beer salesmen. Too many actual TW employees are off working with wines and hard alcohols. I get that. But wow. He easily could've said no we don't have heady topper but this lagunitas born yesterday (of which TW just got 16 cases worth and charging $2 more than the local place known to be more), or direct them to some local ipas. Bon yesterday just hitting TW is a travesty. It's tasting nice but that close to bottled allure is no bueno.

That said, more month old Sucks got picked up. Couldn't resist the price, some dos equis green to water my palate, and a bomber of local beer. And in what will be the 3rd time in 3 visits to different places, they couldn't or didn't ring up one of my items. Lines grew a bit and they got frustrated the sku wouldn't scan. Not sure what they saw or did on the computers. Crazy. Be safe out there. People were buying hoards of wines, beer, and liquors. Let the feasting begin.

Anyone Bourbon County hunting on Black Friday? Hoping to get a bottle of each this year.

Speaking of advent calendars from a page back, I saw a set at Costco in a packaged box with perforated doors. The beers were some truly odd ball seemingly unheard of german beers. I didnt have time to look into it.. Here's a photo someone else posted up

I think I may have heard of one or two. They are all in cans I believe. No true hop bombs. so its a solid gift for a person who likes the lighter styles imho

One of the beers looks to only have 10 reviews after being on BA for 7 years. Not sure what to think to be honest. Price point is quite high too

RE BCBS
The one and only place in my city hasnt really released any info about what they are getting (it seems like the distributor hasnt told them). I'm about to drop $120 and yall dont know whats going on? Ridiculous hype factor. I think I'm passing this year unless some miracle happens

How much per bottle? Formats changed from 12 Oz to 500ml/16.9oz. That's a hell of a solo mission trying to finish one off. Something like a true 50% markup compared to last year. And they say they made more than ever before? Are there that many more beer fans?

I didn't get a chance to get any last year. I know of one spot selling one bottle person customer on Friday.

Yeah my regular local store has the coffee and regular stout held for me. Going to try for the rare, rye, and barley at my local TW and another spot.

Finally got some Xoco, looking forward to trying it tomorrow. Looks like my local spot got very little. Maybe came in yesterday or today and there was only 2 six packs out and none visible in the stock fridge.

BCBS

The distributor that handles Goose Island in my area only got the regular BCBS

Initially planned on going to Wegmans to get multiple bottles because they had BCBS, BCBCS, and BCBW but no point in driving an hour there in the morning just for that since the distributor in my town is gonna sell singles to friends, family, and ppl they're cool with

Just a bit bummed I haven't had a chance to try BCBCS yet
