Quick question for anyone that got any variant of BC. Was the coffee or barleywine any more expensive?

This over priced place had some regular, coffee and Barleywine. He is charging $19.99 per bottle. I know for the fact the regular is $10 so that ******* marked it up 100% but what about the coffee or barleywine?
Coffee and Regal Rye are gonna cost more, for sure.  Barleywine, however, should be the same price as regular or marginally more expensive.

The Barleywine is great, but it doesn't have the same hype the other variants do.  I've never heard anyone say the barleywine is their favorite of the bunch.

I think my place had bw for $ 11 or 12 and rye at $ 20.

20 for bcbs is ridiculously overpriced. Most I'd pay is $14, equilavelent to a $18 22 oz. Bomber, ie parabola. Even prairie bomb which is $10/12 ounce, comes out to a $18 22oz bomber

Scored a bcbs at 9.99 and a bcbw for 15.. Had my chance at multiples at the expense of being ripped off. Talking about ill sell you 2 if you buy any goose island 6 pack or buy the bcbs glass for $18. Not my fault your store over bought gooseisland products to score more bcbs. Everyone's trying to make a buck since craft is the next big thing. That's the reason I rarely post here or search for the "whales bro".

Not beer, but I've been looking of a new dark to drink.

A homie gave me a bottle of Gentleman Jack and I still haven't cracked it open yet.

I'm a Henny man, and I enjoy Remy Martin too.

What do you guys suggest to a guy looking to get into Whiskey?
I went through stages: bourbon (Buffalo Trace) --> Rye (Jefferson's Rye) --> Glenlivet / Macallan / Balvenie (single malt whisky -- Speyside is my favorite type)

I suggest trying different ones at bars over time.

So I finally called it quits at one of my semi local spots. Long story short, dude knows me just from frequent visits. Today I call mid morning and ask about his BCS delivery. He asks who's speaking and I tell him. He says "no delivery yet" and I ask if I should call periodically and check in and he says "No I don't want you to call. You know how annoying that is?"

Then I said sorry and let him go. I call about 330 when I posted above about the prices on variants and he says he got it but it's one per person. Of course I ask if this one bottle or one variant per person and he says "sure come spend your money."

I get there and he's all pi$$ed and in his words "annoyed with this every year and don't care if he ever even gets this in" yet dude has no problem marking them up 100%. I buy a regular, Barleywine and Coffee. $64. Then I think about it and ask here what you all paid. I took all 3 bottles back and told him I want a refund and he asks why. I say because your prices are crazy and I'm not paying them. I tell him the normal prices everyone else charges and then he tells me to prove it. Longer story short, he keeps saying he's gonna sell them one way or another and I said that's cool but not to me.

Then I go to my usual spot and tell him the mess I just dealt with and he hooks me up with two regulars and a Barleywine and coffee for normal price. AND he got in Firestone Anniversary which I snagged too. Check out the list of how it's made below. Basically I got 5 beers for $9 more than the ******* at the other place charged me.

And for what's it's worth, anyone in my area it's called the Deli Lama in Lake Villa/Round Lake. Avoid that overpriced joint like its a plague. Isn't the first time he's treated me like **** but I always gave him the benefit of the doubt that it was just his personality. Anyway sorry for the long *** post

I'm a person who loves the smokier stuff so it's bourbon (Elijah Craig 12) and Islay scotch (Lagavulin/Laphroaig) for me.

Duno where you're from but in San Diego there's a few whisky bars and you can try out the different styles to see what you like. Costco has Glenlivet 12 for $20 too so that's low risk if you wanna try a Speyside.

^ Eff that guy, don't give him your business if they're gonna mark it up like that and still be pissy you're giving them money.

Anybody know if BCBCS is only available in bottles? I have a way easier time finding BCBS on draft than on shelves...hoping coffee is available.

Easily the best APA I've ever had:

Can't say I disagree there. Wish I had more!

Here are the going prices at spots near me:

BCBS - $9.99
BCBBW/BCBCS - $11.99
Regal Rye - $21.99
Rare - $59.99

Sorry you had to go through all that hassle man. Not worth it IMO.

There is so much more to that story. Dude was so condensing and this isn't the first time but is the last. Thanks for the prices. That's exactly what I paid now. Would kill for a rare just to say I had it but I think I'd have a hard time drinking and not showing it off

name was on the list for all variants at my LBS - was only able to get stout and rye for a small markup (11 each). 2014 vanilla rye at the craft bar up the street. it really has aged well.

Terrible customer service. You should've done this:

 - this place is like therapy.

Like I said, a lot more went down but that was the gist of it. Ill leave it alone and my boy who spends a decent amount on money said he's gonna stop in for a last beer and call it quits too. Any way, thanks ya'll.

I've had BCBCS on draft a few times.  It's around, but not very often.

It's definitely on draft in the city. As easy as it would be for me to drive my lazy *** down there to try it, I never do

Good after taste but super light. Not sure I'd buy this again. The sour almost takes over the whole beer.

Did someone actually say Bourbon County is garbage?
I woke up normal time on Friday. Went to my local TW at 10. They were out of regular but had Regal and Rare. Bought a Regal. Went to my lbs, and walked out with a regular. No lines. No headache. I got exactly what I wanted.

I gave my boy some BCBS bottles for his birthday and he told me it was way too heavy / sweet.

$$$ down the drain.
