NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Wasn't going to get any BCBS but I just happened to come across it, they still had multiple cases, guy said hardly anyone had come in for it, had rare as well but I couldnt justify the price.

^Do you mind telling us what you paid on the regular BCBS? It's crazy how some areas get blasted, and other areas no one shows up. It's a great stout, but its slowly reaching the levels that I barely touch upon... that $18/22oz. bomber range. Once these 16.9 oz. bottles reach $14, it's nearly over for me.

Breakfast stout?

Beer? For Breakfast?

School me.
Can't lie, I have had it for Sunday/Holiday breakfast.

The breakfast nickname the beer gives itself is more about what's in the beer. It's a double chocolate coffee oatmeal stout.

Flaked oats, the same used in breakfast oatmeal, is used in the initial brewing process. At some point in time, they add in either coffee beans or pressed coffee to the beer.

It's basically a chewy wake me up type of beer. A meal in a glass so to speak. The 8.3% creeps up on you just as the coffee wears off.

And when you mix that with Stone Xocoveza, a mocha stout, brewed with cocoa nibs, vanilla, nutmeg, chile peppers, cinnamon, and more coffee, :smh: . Try it out. It's worth the mix. I now need more FBS to get these concoctions going proper

^try using the stone beer finder as Wally suggested above

if you can find it just a little outside of the city in NJ it would be cheaper than Philly prices

Joe Canals in West Deptford is a pretty good spot...they have a growler fill station there too

i paid $60 after tax for a case in my area which is not as expensive as Philly area but more expensive than philly

Just as death by coconut has that underlying coconut flavor *not artifical btw, Xocoveza is that mexican hot chocolate blend the SW and So Cal has been doing for decades. It's love or hate for most that I have had try it. Vanilla, Nutmeg, cocoa, peppers, cinnamon, and coffee combine for quite the unique mix. The stout base is quite thin. Think of a milk stout type beer, with all these spices added.

I actually blended some Founders Breakfast Stout and Stone Xocoveza (half pour of each into a glass). Ridiculous

Damn, this sounds good.

All of the spots around me all sold out of it. Anybody know if NYC spots have it?

I called up all the stores in NJ / NYC and all sold out a few weeks ago.

At this point, I'll just have to try the Xocoveza at a bar.

Total Wine by me had quite a few singles in the mix and match section, might be worth taking a look if there is one near you.
Is it hard to find? I never actually looked for it, just saw it but I kid you not, it has dust on the bottles. I only grabbed two @ $4.99 a pop to try. I'd buy it again for sure. I love that white ale they make.

I've had a gang of pumpkin beer. Warlock and Pumking are by far the best. Pumkick by new Belgium is solid too. Nice little haul.

I figured NT deserved and update as to how my archives are coming along:

Don't even ask about my fridge

.  Other Half IPAs for days.  What's everyone else working with?

Nice cellar/haul pics, everyone. As a general rule, I *hate* pumpkin beer. ST Warlock is a notable exception, though.

Damn CF, nice stash you got there! Think I'm down to about 25-30 bottles left in the cellar. Hoping to cut that down significantly over the holidays

I paid $9.99 each so not too terrible imo. The double pecan porter on the other hand was $17

I paid the same for BCBS and I think $19 for the DPP. I've heard that people have experienced bad bottles of the DPP though and I'm thinking about taking it back.

BCBS is still sitting at grocery stores in my area. Picked up a few more Sunday evening.

Yea I heard that about DPP as well but I also heard people say they had no issues so I figure I'll chance it.  512 doesnt bottle much so I try to grab it when I have the chance.

Understandable. I've had some bad luck this year with infected bottles (Silva Stout) and it's made me a bit reluctant to gamble on another $20 bottle.

Just noticed you're in Austin. I was there a few weeks ago with a buddy who used to live there. The Flag Store did some serious damage to my wallet. I couldn't believe how much Yellow Rose was just sitting on shelves. I'll be there for NYE as well and plan on stocking up.

Man, I haven't made it out to the flag store in a while. Definitely need to head over there soon as its only like 15 minutes away.

@Meyer23

Had the Xocoveza today and damn, it's my favorite stout so far. And I only drink stouts.

Still trying to find a six-pack of it around NYC.
