NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Tried these a few nights back: Black Xantus Imperial Stout and Founders Breakfast Stout for me and a St. Bernardus Abt 12 for the lady. Huge fan of quads but I'm slowly becoming a huge fan of stouts.

^ I felt the same way about FBS when I first started out.

I tried everything and then revisited FBS. Has been in rotation and love that it's available at most stores.

That's exactly what I said after I had it. I plan to revisit it some time next year.

Im done trying to look for xoco. If I come across it I'll cop.

Anyone try merry maker?

$20 for the Black Butte?!

Paid $11 at my local Whole Foods. I've never actually cracked one before the best after date. It's one of those beers like The Abyss that I buy and try to forget about for at least a year.

A very unique Imperial IPA.  Haven't had Wa-Iti or Southern Cross hops on their own before. Not their best offering, but still blows a majority of the competition out of the water:

I'm fairly confident saying Grimm>Other Half at this point.

Had a few Ballast Point beers this past week:

GOOD

- Grapefruit Sculpin

PASS

- Commodore

- Calm Before the Storm

I like Ballast Point stuff but out in Philly it's easily $15 a 6 pack so I pass a lot

Habanero Sculpin is one of my favorites though so I will pay the $16 it cost me here, they also had their pumpkin ale on draft my local watering hole I go to often and that was good, a scotch pumpkin ale was something different

Anybody try the Blue Moon Horchata? Thoughts?

I grabbed a Blue Moon sampler this week with that Cappuccino Oatmeal stout, gingerbread ale, and the horchata... Was really underwhelmed by the first two but I thought the horchata was really good actually.

I'm generally a stout guy and have been hunting that Xocoveza for the past couple weeks now but can't get it anywhere near me :smh:

Man. I just bought one of each. I had the grapefruit, which was good, but I hope I like the stout and Porter better than you did.

I think retail on Ballast Point beers are generally a little higher than most breweries

Not sure on offerings other than Sculpin (regular and variants), but I think $16 for a six pack is a pretty common price

My wife got a couple of six packs for about $14 in New Jersey and that's the cheapest I've ever heard it costing

What the hell do they do differently that makes them so expensive? Walked out with a pack for around 18 after tax and I almost doubled back because I thought they rang me up wrong. Cheapest I've seen is around 12 bucks at trader Joe's, but those are the smaller cans.
