NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

This may sound silly but I feel good when I pass on a release anymore. I don't mean saying I passed because I tried and failed to get it, but actually passing. Obviously I've had KBS before and wasn't too impressed so it's easier to pass but at the same time, it's money well NOT spent

Finally got my grubby little hands on this one:

Lives up to the hype.  Kind of reminds me of a hybrid between Afterimage and Lambo Door.  I was only able to get one can, but best believe I'm on the lookout for more in the upcoming days.

Good to hear. I'm visiting a friend in Brooklyn this weekend and he has some waiting for me along with some sip of sunshine and heady.

From a page back.. Tropicalia was super impressive for me. All I remember is it feeling more like straight tropical juice. Very little aroma and bitterness. But that juiciness is something else.

I'm passing for other reasons. Sinus head cold into a tooth ache will leave one craving nothing.. After 3 days of no beer, I cracked a Fat Tire yesterday. Surprisingly good. Almost all taste of a malty sweetness. I'm wondering what my first IPA back will taste like. I feel my taste buds have re-energized or re-acclimated themselves.

There was three new local canned offerings this week I'm missing out on. All of which I have had before on draft, But these store shelves are getting packed. Places in town seem reluctant to expand their beer shelves.

I will agree, it feels good to pass on stuff. Next week will be tough. I believe a local nelson sauvin DIPA will be doing its once a year release. We shall see how this lack of beer thing goes lol.

Anybody know the bottled on date for Waldo's? My area may just barely be getting it this coming week or next.

KBS was $20/four pack. You do the math on its ABV and compare it to what it should be at in bombers, and Meyer23, it sort of does make you want to buy them. But the kicker is, it's a hell of a deal up to $28/four pack. Sounds like that shop knows what it's doing. That's not a deal at all.

TW gives out these coupon books once in awhile.. SNPA for $11/12pack is a hell of a deal, along with some local elevated ipa on sale. So I may just stock up for old times sake.

Cheers yall, heres to a great weekend

Mine has a julian date of "088 6", so March 28th. About a little over 2 weeks old now. It drinks dangerously easy for an 11% beer.

Kinda disappointed. I didnt get much barrel characteristics on it. But its still a good stout, i just wouldnt seek it out or pay top dollar for it. I still have one more i might just let it sit and see how it changes.

Tried the Lagunitas Waldo last night for Kobe's last game. Didn't actually read the label or know what type of beer it was. Wasn't expecting a 11.5% TIPA

Bro, me too. Is it hard to get?

Cause I went to my bro in laws and he's a big beer guy, and I killed 4 of his Waldo's.

So I went to try to find him more, and it's all sold out. Limited release, but how limited? I feel bad :smh:

That beer was GOOD though  . Little bit of an alcohol after taste, but for 11.5%, surprised the after taste wasn't stronger!

Guess I gotta drive to Santa Rosa and get him some Pliny to make up for it

Worked late yesterday, so I decided to treat myself:

I feel like their dry-hopped sours all taste extremely similar.  Then again, they're all really good so that's not the worst thing in the world.

Stopped by Sand City a few hours ago and grabbed a growler of Oops I Hopped My Pants!:

One of the best IPAs they've made so far.  I'm almost over going to Other Half at this point. It takes me 30 minutes to get to Sand City, but I'm in and out.  Beats the 4-5 hour ordeal of the Other Half trip. Can't wait until they start canning.

You dudes beasting over Waldos' should try to score a can of All Green Everything.  Pretty sure it's being canned next Saturday. Easily the best triple IPA I've ever had.

Where is everyone getting these awesome beers?

I can't find anything in NYC.

My roommate is walking around downtown right now and just sent me this picture from a bottle shop he was at:

And you're trying to tell me you can't find anything good in NYC?!

But seriously...NYC has some really nice bottle shops, but the best breweries/bars seem to be in Brooklyn/Queens.  If you're that close, your best bet is getting growlers from Other Half, Threes, Finback, Singlecut, etc.  You have a ton of great local breweries at your fingertips.

^options? Or you drank them all? Tripel stotch porter stout DIPA DIPA.. would be my order

Weird stuff. Fbs gone at local tw. Kbs gone. Wiped clean. Only 8 days since my last visit. And that's why I bought as much as I could feasibly handle at the time.

In such sad times, I found some Waldo. Thanks neosole89 for the date info. How much yall pay? I paid $11/6.

Evening two store haul

Two local new canned offerings. It took them awhile to start canning. They got surpassed by like 4 breweries during that time it seems. Their ipa can contend with other core lineup offerings in state. Things just got interesting. They are introducing them on sale. Gotta love it. Exodus IPA is/can be on par with Elevated IPA. But just didnt have the visibility. Dougie style amber won a gabf gold a year back or so.

Elevated on sale. I said I'd do it and I did..

One Waldo getting tried right now..

SNPA on sale.
HH a bit old but its tasting quite fine.

1516 was the most expensive of the bunch. $15/sixer. I really wanted to try that though. Kellerbier for that much. It better be good lol

Impulse Vitus buy. It's gone up like $1.20 in a years time. Expensive times.

Local DIPA offering.. Glad to see it not priced at $10/bomber. Its sad when im happy to see $7/bomber.

With some coupons, this was actually less than $100.. Proud of myself

Forgot to mention/ask. How is Xocoveza Charred in the bigger format? I think its either standard bomber or the 500ml format? At $16/ "bomber", I could not take that chance. I was spending too much.

First time ever seeing that locally.

I think CFord mentioned it nothing being quite worth it a few months back.. Crazy how much lag there is in some beers getting to my area compared to others.

Yeah, that was me.  Xocoveza Charred is a completely different beer than the original.  The spices/adjuncts are extremely muted.  Just tastes like a thin barrel-aged stout.  The only reason to buy it is for the sake of comparison, in my opinion.
