grabbed a 12 pack of SN beer camp from my local distributor

i was aware of the high price point but wanted to try something new and they're usually pretty reasonable about prices

there was no price on it and when it rang up a $34.97 after tax :x it stung a bit

Beer camp is good, but $20/12 pack TOPS. I can build a better mix a six than what they gave. I still have 5 left. Not exactly jumping at the chance to retry them to be honest.

I'm proud of myself. It's my cities "BEER WEEK". Quite a few beer collabs, tap takeovers, special beer cheese pairings, food/beer pairings, special releases, and what not. I have not flinched at the prospect of checking any of that stuff out.. La Cumbre came out with their annual release of their Strawberry Gose. It's really good but that price point is just not fun. I'd rather get some nearly overpriced $10/sixer AVBC blood orange gose. I guess I'm a value drunk lol

Spontaneously booked flights, a hotel and tickets for Riot Fest in Chicago. Didn't realize I'm staying 40 min away from 3floyds. I'm going to head down the first night and grabbing growlers and bottles for the weekend. Any bars or bottle shops around Douglas Park? I know Lagunitas is very close but I've heard the area doesn't have a lot to offer.

I'm sure you can look at reviews, my suggestion is to mentally prepare to stand in a long line and get treated like ****. I've never been but have a few first hand stories of people going and doing exactly that. I've always wanted to go myself and while I don't care about being treated like **** as long as I get my beer, I don't want to wait in a long *** line AND then get treated like ****. Ain't nobody got time for that

Currently in Midtown Manhattan...about to hit up the Brooklyn Brewery. whats yall take on this joint? any other suggestions of what i should do? doesnt have to be beer related lol

Parish Brewing has some world class IPAs. Southern Prohibition is another that I've been lucky enough to get to try and have enjoyed a variety of their offerings. Parish is right outside of NO (to the west). SPB is in Hattiesburg, MS. Both distribute in or around NO is what I have heard.I'd be looking for those two breweries in or around NO.

I'm relatively new to craft beer myself,I started off by trying local brews.Not sure where you're located but probably a brewery close by.Then I moved on to more widely known craft or craftish stuff like Founders,Sierra Nevada etc.to get a feel of what styles I like.Two I liked really early on were Fat Tire and Anchor Steam.These guys in here can help you way more than I can but being new myself I figured I'd throw out my thoughts.

Forcefield is pretty nice, wish I could get it all the time for the summer. Evil twin doesnt miss when it comes to stouts, I might head back for more biscotti break later. Im excited to try Future Perfect, I wasnt too interested from its description as I dont care for berries but I have heard good things.

I actually didn't care all that much for Forcefield. Got some diacetyl on the nose.

It's funny...I brought it up in the Grimm thread and the Grimms replied right away defending the beer/giving me a slightly condescending reply. I responded politely, and next thing you know a bunch of people chime in agreeing with me about the diacetyl aroma/flavor. They still won't admit it though.

I loved Future Perfect, however. Bought three bottles and still have one sitting in the fridge. A lot of their dry-hopped sours taste really similar, but Future Perfect is completely unique. Crazy to think that over 25% of that beer is blueberry and blackberry puree.
