What's good in the DMV area? Trying to stock up on some beers for the rest of the summer this weekend.

Sippin' on my last one.

I had the Anderson Valley Gose a few weeks back. Thought it was pretty good even though I'm not much of a sour guy. Wish it was a tad sweeter but tasty nonetheless.

Was sipping on this last night. Got this from a trade a few months back with @WallyHopp. Coffee faded a bit but still held up really well. Also got some nice bourbon and chocolate notes in the taste. Thing got me pretty buzzed at 13.4% ABV

Nice little box showed up today from a fellow BA member

Revolution's Citra Hero bomber
3Floyd's Apocalypse Cow bomber
Pipework's Galaxy Unicorn bomber
BCBBW
BCBS
New Glarus Dancing Man Wheat
Central Waters Illumination DIPA

Got a lot of work to do haha

I need some of that Anderson Valley gose really bad. Hope it shows up in Colorado soon.

And nice pick-up with the Allagash and Bruery too!
My buddy lives in SoCal and I never had a sour before but he told me about the Bruery ones towards the beginning of the year. I had to hunt them down out here at a Binnys and have been hooked ever since. I've tried the other 3 sours from The Bruery as well and if they weren't $20 a bottle, I'd drink them all the time.

And the Allagash is fantastic as well; slowly but surely trying what the have in stock at my local joint as well.

That Bourbon County is good but it's hard to drink a lot of it and yeah, it's powerful!

I need some help from my fellow beer lovers-

I'm getting married next month back in my howmetown on the coast just south of Boston. My fiancée is Texan, as is her family and friends so I wanted to have a local IPA ([referably).

I have the option to puck three beers that the local packie can get in stock.

Right now, it's looking something like this:

1. Miller Light (Texans love it. I can't stand the fact that it'll be on the menu)

2. Smuttynose IPA (New Hampshire) or BBC Lost Sailor IPA (Mass)

3. Can't decide if I want an Ale (Cicso - Whale's Tail Pale Ale) or Lager (Jack's Abby - Jabby Brau - Session Lager).

I was also considering replacing the IPA with Jack's Abby Hoponius Union IPL.

Any opinions or recomendation are greatly appreciated.

Yeah, those Bruery sours can get pricey fast. I only get them on tap when the price is more manageable. Haha.

If you haven't had Tart Of Darkness yet, it's worth the cash. Mindblowing stuff right there.

I second something from Sam Adams. People seem to only drink from names they recognize. My friends called me cheap for bringing Firestone Walker & Lagunitas to a function and ended up not touching it. They only drink the "good stuff" - Heineken & Corona.

On a per ounce basis, I think it might actually end up being cheaper getting some of the Bruery's stuff on tap than getting a bottle. *Kanye shrug*

Had DFH Namaste last night. It was pretty good, I have yet to come across a bad DFH beer. I like to try everything they put out and this one didn't dissapoint.

Allagash White still the best white beer though.

Place I frequant had 2013 bourbon county barley wine. Stuff is amazing. I hate giving InBev my money but this stuff is too delicious.
Haven't posted in a while but these have been some highlights.

Went to Torst in Brooklyn today.  Thoroughly impressed.

The drinks:

Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break

Firestone Walker Double DBA

Westbrook Gose

The Vittles:

Welsh Rarebit

Fried Onion Chips with Tomato Relish

Confited Duck Sandwich

I feel about ready to die, but everything from the beer to the atmosphere to the food was absolute crack and totally worth the money I spent.  Definitely a spot to check out if you're in the greater NYC area.

How's that Woot Stout? Sucks that Norcal isn't getting any.

Nice lineup! I would've been totally wasted after all that

I have. I've had that Tart of Darkness, Oude Tart, & Sour in the Rye. I actually still have not tried that 4th one, Rueuze, that I bought, yet. So far, I'd buy everyone of them again.

I've been trying a lot of different beer from Pipeworks. These were all okay but I probably wouldn't buy any of them again except maybe the End of Days. That was pretty good.

Boulevard's Two Jokers Double Wit is, by far, the best wit ever. They're not in PA, but they are in Maryland. Track down a bottle...it's ridiculous.
