NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

@Zero23 I'm a big fan of the cuban espresso, bu haven't seen it canned. How long ago did you pick this up?

Also, I'm hoping to score some Marshal Zhukov's this afternoon. Fingers crossed

I grabbed it 3 weekends ago. I've never seen it canned either so I grabbed as much as I can. Apparently it was a release for Florida only from what I read. Glad Orlando is only an hour away from the brewery in Tampa.. That Zhukov is amazing stuff though. Hope you score some!!!

How bad is it in your neck of the woods? Get this, this semi regional grocery store is having renovations done, and the beer aisle is somewhat of a mess. 1/2 the bombers or more are GONE, and some things just seemed off.. I spotted LAGUNITAS SUCKS!.. Now this has been around since November as a winter seasonal, with an end date around February.. It just so happens the bottles I see are dated January 31st. The fact that it was $10.99 really left me wondering.. The date code on the price was 5/31/14, so they knew what they were doing.... As upset as I was, I saw Elevated IPA on sale and jumped on it.. Total impulse disgust buy. If it wasn't for some local products, It would be even sadder

Just got this dope Rare Barel package. Love their beers. If you are into sours, you have to try Rare Barrel.

I''ll cut you off, if you cut me off lol. LC does have a new DIPA coming out if anyone is interested. I just need to get off the internet entirely as these releases just never end, especially the Oktoberfests coming so early.

I will say having a beer fridge is a bit of a curse. I have cleaned mine out of any IPAs that can't age. At one point, I had 5-6 to finish, which I did, in order to have a "clean slate" with just oktoberfests, some founders from a trade, and a bunch of RISs for the winter. I definitely sense a downward trend for me.. Luckily pumpkin beers dont do it for me, nor the autumn type beers that try to have apple spices and crap like that.. Winter beers are just as bad. I guess its all talk until I actually slow down

Don't tempt me man! Just when I was trying to slow down, my local spot got this in. I'm trying I swear .

I've been on a sour kick for the better part of this year, but it's not very popular out here so they are hard to come by. I would love to get involved in some trades but I'm not ever sure where to begin and I'd feel a little uncomfortable shipping pretty expensive beer praying it doesn't get smashed up no matter how well it's packed.

^ Absolutely ridiculous lol. Theres an older lady who owns a liquor store by me and she keeps any older stuff she finds in her warehouse for me when I come in. She gave this to me for $5. Also two bottles of expedition stout from 2010 for $2 a bottle hah

Having a pacifico while cooking. Literally zero flavor. Slight corn sweetness then this dry bitterness on the finish. Celebrating a new chapter in my gfs life tonight. Debating on opening a double Dba or sucaba.

Got lucky at my local Total Wine and grabbed one of the last bottles of Cigar City Marshall Zhukov's Imperial Stout. Wanted to grab more than one but they wouldn't let me. Almost had a random dude in the store get me one but his demands list kept rising so I passed. (went from 2 cans of beer to a 6 pack to a 24 pack lol)

Heading to Tampa at the end of the month so hopefully they'll have some Zhukov left on Tap to enjoy at the brewery.

Just finished off the last of the Beer Camp.  I'd rate them from best to worst as follows:

1. Double Latte (Ninkasi)

2. Maillard's Odyssey (Bell's)

3. CANfusion (Oskar Blues)

4. There & Back (New Glarus)

5. Myron's Walk (Allagash)

6. Yvan the Great (Russian River)

7. Torpedo Pilsner (Firestone Walker)

8. Tater Ridge (Asheville)

9. Electric Ray (Ballast Point)

10. Chico King (Three Floyds)

11. Yonder Bock (Cigar City)

12. Alt Route (Victory)

A lot of those last ones could be subject to change depending on my mood.  The top 4 are pretty much set in stone though.

At the end of the day I don't really regret the purchase...I just wouldn't suggest dropping $25+ on the 12-pack.  Fun experience regardless.

Anyone do anything for "International IPA Day"? I think I drank about 30 four packs of elevated since the last IPA Day, so today is a rest day. I missed out on some special releases but I have zero regrets

Drinking this modern times phalanx on ipa day. It's really delicious. Heavy peach and grapefruit flavores. Drinking swamis later tonight.

^ Hoping my local spot gets some of that. Sipping on this tonight for IPA day. Bottled 7/25. Big citrus and tropical fruits notes in the aroma. Tastes follows the aroma with some juicy mango, grapefruit with a nice dry finish. One of the few Drakes beers that I actually like.

:pimp:

I'm super hyped to have gotten a bottle. I met a mamager of a local beer shop on the BA forums just last week and I messaged him asking about this release. He hit me with the we get it tomorrow first come first serve. Well when I got out of work and called the store it was gone. I messaged him today saying I missed it but thanks for the heads up maybe next time and he messaged back to come in after work he's got one in the back. :pimp:

Not really a big beer drinker, but I'd like to try some new stuff. Usually only drink crappy beers I get for free or stuff they sell at Walmart :\.

Any suggestions on some good beets to try? I'm in Northern California if that matters.

well, then you are quite frankly very close to being in heaven. Nor Cal has an amazing selection within a day's drive. but if you want to start off slow... i would encourage you to work through everything that sierra nevada brewing co has to offer. they have a good distributor base, so you'll def be able to find them nearby wherever you are. once you expand out from that, just start having bottles of stuff you've never tried before. eventually you'll find something that you really like.

i like to encourage folks just getting into craft beers to have one of their stalwart favorites on hand also. it really helps pull out the differences between a lagunitas imperial stout and a newcastle when you have them back to back.

I feel the same way, turned 21 recently so I'm able to buy whatever drink I choose now. Been trying something different every week to see what I like. Really feeling IPAs right now tho. Also picked this up today:

I'm most excited to try the 3 Floyd's and the Ballast Point but after that ranking up there by Comparison Ford, I don't want to get my hopes up too high.

Excited for all of em!

Do yourself a favor and buy 12oz singles at Total Wine/Bevmo. Try every style you can and figure out what you like. Check Ratebeer.com or Beeradvocate.com for reviews/recommendations.
