NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Today was a good day. Wallet is hurting though .

That XVIII breakdown is something else. Like 10 beers mixed together. I love that concept

BCBS is a beast.. I'm not getting much booze factor at all in the initial taste. But it just seems to be burning up my throat/stomach a bit. Like an after burn. This one bottle is becoming a 1.5 hour chore. This is definitely a special occassion sipper.. Avery Tweak may be even more of a challenge.

^Some rep straight up told us.. Our region/store did bad in general year round sales, and thus we only got the normal black labeled BCBS. If we want the good stuff, we have to "earn it" through substandard year round offerings.. No thanks! A couple guys laughed.

Looking at other forums, it seems everyone got shorted on the variants. So just who DID get them then?

I know...crazy! Heard Parabola made up most of the mix which is fine with me considering it was an awesome beer. Looking forward to cracking this open.

No one seemed to have the coffee or vanilla variants around my way.

Only spot I knew of that got variants in the Bay sold out by the time I got there. They also had vanilla and coffee on tap which went quick! The Bay definitely got screwed on variants considering there were liquor stores in the Roseville/Sacamento area that got them :rolleyes.

I had spoke w/ a manager at my local Wegmans prior to release of BCBS a to have a pack held for me

Since I worked today I asked my sister to pick it up

She sent me this pic asking if it was the right one

Told her that was it and asked if they had any of the variants and the cost

She said she was eating lunch in the cafe and would go back to the beer in 10 minutes :/

There was only 1 pack of barley wine left when she went back

And nothing was held for me by the manager...he was off today

Ideally would have got the coffee stout if I could but at least I got something

I got my Vanilla from my local bottle shop (and I know another local shop got some as well). Stopped by my two local Bevmo's and Total Wine and none of them got the Vanilla.

If anybody in here has an extra BCBS and a Barleywine, I'd give up two BCBCS for them.

Gimme a couple of days and I'll be more than happy to make that exchange.

If the deal falls through with CF, hit me up!

I'm such a ****. Just got back from my local and I did end up with some Barleywine after all. Just looking for BCBS now.

Went up to Moab a couple years back. 3.2% stouts are AMAZING!
I didn't check out moab but my gfs parents got us a few local brews upon arrival with moabs black ipa and scotch ale. They also had a few red rocks and epics. They're wine drinkers so I was impressed they tracked down some local brews for us. We did check out epic and wasatch. Both had amazing beer and amazing food

It seems to be common that people age the Bourbon County for a year and drink the previous year. I'm not sure, since I don't have any 2013 left, that I'm gonna not drink what I bought but I'd love to wait to drink this 2014 next year.

^ I know of one that may be getting some this week. Only BW though. Is this what you heard also? PM me :D

am i a thot because i only drink corona, Guinness & Heineken? My boys make fun of me because they ALL like blue moon and all these types of exotic joints

Heineken is skunks piss and I've drank a lot of it. Don't get it twisted, as much as I love my craft beer, Miller Lite is always on call.

This stuff is good and it's 11.8%, bout to put me on my ***.

Tasty blonde, not much else to say.

This was a year old, pretty good, still had some chili pepper bite. Bit of cocoa in there

We did a vertical of this Friday night. 2009, 2013, and 2014. I kid you not, the 2009 tasted like fudge brownies spritzed with bourbon. I think it was the best beer I've ever had. 2013 lost some of the boozy flavor from last year, getting more chocolate. 2014 was delicious, but could use some more time to mellow out. Definitely the most boozy of the three, but still an world class barrel aged stout.

Just had this tonight. It's growing on me - I may have had it too cold before, but now I'm getting roasty chocolate notes and am enjoying it.

My local spot still has BW and BCBS sitting on shelves. I was hoping for BCBCS but is it worth it to get the BCBC, which I've never had? (Already have last years Barleywine cellared)

I'd say it's worth it. It's one of the best beers out there IMO. And if you want coffee, you can always french press it. Works really well surprisingly.
