NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

When does Stone make their Chipotle Stout? Been looking forever

Had it in NYC in December at the Ginger Man which was an awesome bar

A local spot had Vanilla Rye on tap last night. Tapped the keg at about 6. It blew about 8. I walked in at 8:05. Sucks to be me...
Although I did get a glass of BCBS. I've had numerous times in bottles, but I must say, that off a keg, that stuff is great.

Homebrew UPDATE.. We brewed a ESB about 3 weeks ago, its sitting about 6%. Tasting more like a blonde ale. Not really fruity notes in the yeast taste but it's sweet. Hops are very mild. Fuggles and other UK varieties used.. Mouthfeel and finish is quite heavy, like that of a 9% beer. But I kind of like the heaviness for what it is.. Probably on par with some of the lower level breweries I have been to, who actually sell this stuff to the public. 3.5/5, makes this one a drinkable beer

We then brewed a Marble Red Clone (this is a local brew, that is more of a hoppy red. It is packed with caramel malts, simcoe, citra, and cascade hops. We'll be dry hopping for about 7 days (it's longer than we wanted but we usually only work weekend to weekend)... We've been repitching our yeast by saving the yeast cake and placing the wort on top of the yeast cake. Most breweries do this generational to generational setup with the same batches of beer. We're trying different styles. ESB to hoppy to, what's next, our Maple beer, is not ideal but we'll see how it turns out. We'll be using about 25oz. of syrup in the near post boil.

SN Hop Hunter hit my area. Not sure If I will be getting any. ANyone try that yet?

good beer.

Been so busy with this new job, I haven't really had time to drink any beers (which might be a good thing ). Sipping on some 2012 BBPt5 tonight. Not getting that much barrel with this one but more chocolate and dark fruit notes. Actually like it better than the 2013 I had.

Would anybody with a Vanilla Rye be willing to trade it for 2 '15 Sucaba's. Or I can get 2 botttles of Double DBA '14. Or a combo of the two. Let me know.

Has anyone ever eaten at jacks urban eats? They have these tall bottles of blue moon (24 oz I believe). For some reason, it tasted so much better than the regular 12 oz bottles, and blue moon is my fav beer.

Expensive little trip. Ten Fidy & Surly Abrasive Ale:

Surly Eight Anniversary & Indeed Hot Box Smoked Pepper Porter.

check places like Big Lots, Walmart, etc. ive gotten glasses (they usually have all sorts) pretty cheap there before.

Not a big drinker, but decided to give this a try since I liked the regular blue moon. Wasn't the same, maybe because I didn't put an orange in there idk

^ I actually bought a 6 pack of that a couple weeks ago just to try it and I kind of like it for what it is

Stopped by at ballast point last night. Had victory at sea with peanut butter and it was really good. juat chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla, coffee. Also had dorado dipa and sour wench which was awesome.

They saw me coming lol. Plans for CA were halted halfway there. Decided on some goodies available in Az (not available to me locally). I had to make it worthwhile in some regard

It was gonna be worse but some FW and other victory beers were dated a bit and we were crunched for time. So it was some true go tos and a random nut brown sixer

Prices were a bit high but what are you gonna do. Huge convenience factor here.

Seemingly fresh Victory Hop Ranch x4 (BBD April)
6 wk old Sculpin x 12. I really bit the bullet here on both freshness and price..
Two hearted x12 was cheaper and just three wks old.
Dirt Wolf x4 is a bit older as well I'm guessing (BBD March)
Oak Creek Nut Brown. something to mix it up with.

Super big blind tasting is going down tomorrow

Are you in the Twin Cities, because that looks like a trip to the Four Firkins
Yeah man I was up there for a couple days. Lake Wine & Liquors. Crazy how the hood has changed over the last 15 years. That Surly 8 was very very good. Abrasive is always great. Hot Box was meh.

Sipping on this tonight. First time having a Smog City beer. Tons of dark chocolate bitterness. Love it!

Digging right in.. I upped Sculpin from 4.5 to 5. It's tasting super clean and these subtle hints of flavors out of both are just KILLER tonight. Some nights I feel all beers start tasting the same and its just for waste. Tonight, everything is awakened. My local fav, La Cumbre is a beast in and of itself. But its at that sort of extreme hoppy angle.. Here, these two seem so subtle. Sculpin is tasting like the best IPA I have ever had, straight up. Tropical/citrusy notes way in the background. Aroma is also very very subtle. Nothing crazy at all. Bitterness is reeled right in. Sculpin finishes dry with a really nice crispness..

Two hearted is a younger beer (3 weeks vs. 6) but this is on edge of that swampy sort of hop smell. Luckily, the taste is totally different. I catch more of a heavier mouthfeel and overall beer. I get more of a sense of melons here. Very nice sweetness factor. This ones carbonated really nicely (high up there.. to my likings) but still carries that heaviness. Not exactly dry. 4.5.

Both are so clean and smooth on a yeast/cleanliness aspect. No off flavors. Very smooth. I almost wouldnt call them IPAs though. Ive said it before and Ill say it again. I think the mass market likes some hops. But the ones that go above and beyond are the ones that get dinged. These test my taste buds in different ways
