NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Freshness helps so much. I have had some IPAs from unknowns that for that moment in my life feel "amazing" and taste the same. Isn't that all that really matters? (1 could say their mcdonalds meal was the greatest ever, so I can see the flip side). Is there a certain plateau of greatness that our minds or taste buds reach? Does one instantly blow their load after consuming HT? It's a tough gauge.. Double blind tastings help so much.. People who have HT trade away for other beers, and vice versa. It's a great problem to have if you are them.. Focal Banger rose the IPA charts almost instantly. I can't help but think a lot of these VT beers have that overrated cloud around them that few want to poke their nose at.

On that same front, I did some TW shopping. That IPA/DIPA sampling really helped me out. Picked up more elevated IPA four packs, a Marble IPA sixer, and a surprise SN Hop Hunter 12 pack. That beer deserves my money this time around. Surprise beer among others like Sculpin and Two Hearted which cost almost 2-3 times as much. I'm doing great this year limiting my bomber buying. I passed on some Clown Shoes undead IS sitting at $8/bomber. Even some Marble Imperial Stout, at a bargain $12/bomber.. I passed on. Local shops FB page had some vintage bombers of goodies that I passed on as well. Feeling really good that I can get a solid 12 pack of something instead of a single bomber

Sculpin and Two hearted, I have been having almost nightly side by side. Almost down with my allotment. So crisp, and overall just a clean flavor out of Sculpin. Two hearted feels a bit more creamy and fuller bodied (dare I say like HT). Sculpin is holding up well for almost 2 months old. I may have one more crack at a blind sampling this weekend to see if I can guess any better

Just returned from vacation in Mexico. All-inclusive resort had an exclusive agreement with Dos Equis, on tap at all bars. Naturally drank a lot of the Amber Lager.

Rooms were also stocked with Modelo and Corona Extra.

Know this is the beer thread but anyone else also fancy good red wine, scotch, and/or tequila?

If I'm not drinking beer, I drink bourbon (Maker's) or, on occasion, gin (Hendrick's) or Irish whiskey (Jameson's).
I don't like wine. I deplore scotch. And tequila makes me throw up. lol

Missed out on Pliny The Younger today, oh well.

At least I got to try it last year.

Oh and its beer on the weekdays for me, bourbon, whiskey, or scotch on the weekends. Any other hard liquor and I turn into The Hulk.

Bros if it ain't a craft beer I can't call it real beer! I will never go back to that watered down corona type beer with no kick. Craft or go home.

Btw to answer your ques OP. Fool wth that dogfish head 90 IPA [emoji]128076[/emoji][emoji]128175[/emoji] strong with a crafty taste.

Little late to the local brews/craft brews but man I'm glad I took the plunge and finally started drinking some good beer. Been on a Ballast Point kick the last few weeks gonna head to the brewery on Sunday for a tour.

Big fan of Jamo (shots).

Gin for me, is like tequila for most. I get buck wild off some Tanqueray.

However, I love, love tequila (extra anejo).

Any particular scotch?

Glenlivet usually. Macallan or Balvenie when I'm feeling fancy.

Becks Octoberfest
Sam Adams escape route

Blue point oatmeal stout
Newcastle scotch ale
Breckinridge oatmeal stout
Hofbrau hefe weizen

Modelo negra

It's been a minute. Sipping on some Pliny tonight. Bottled 1/27. Good as always.

Also, it's strictly beer for me. I like BA brews but can't get into scotch, whiskey, bourbon, etc... for some reason.

I thought about bringing up scotch but for a while now but never did. I love my some Glenfiddich 18. I've had a ton of scotches and that is easily my favorite based of taste and price. Blue label was the easiest drinking I've ever had, was almost scary how easy that went down

Jack and Coke is my default mixed drink. But now-a-days, most of my beer is craft or something special but always have Miller just in case I get the occasional guest that needs a cold one.

Anyone in the Chicago area, my sister sent me this via facebook. It's a Sour beer event. I'd go in a heartbeat if I didn't have to work.

I'm a Johnnie Walker guy through and through. Black (rocks) regularly, Blue (neat) on special occasions.

Rarely dabble into mixed drinks. Few times a year at holiday parties.

I'm in love with Degollado extra anejo currently.

Fiesta Americana. Quiet, clean. Excellent service. No complaints on my mind. In contrast, heard nightmares about Cozumeleno.

Heading to Santa Rosa this weekend. Let's see if I can finally try the Younger lol

Hope you're ready to waste 4 hours of your life. Well not waste, but really it isn't worth the wait.

I follow a couple of beer bars in SD on Facebook. They usually have multiple kegs. Some announce in advance to the world when they're tapping, then again randomly to their social media followers. Was able to get a couple of glasses this way with zero wait.

I actually didn't get into scotch until like 5-6 years ago. When I did, I tried the whole Johnnie line in order. I actually thoroughly enjoy the black, although with that said, I haven't had the double black. And they just some what recently released the Platinum which from my understanding was only in their traveling series. Have you had the Platinum?

 I'm with you. The main reason I have never pushed to try it is because I'm not willing to wait. But a couple of my buddies really want it so I'll give it a shot with them. If it takes too long, I'm going to another bar.

I'm not a fan of Black Label and I think Blue Label is way over priced. It is good, but I'd rather get a bottle of 18 year Jameson, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, etc.

I've been getting the 12 year, 15 year, and 18 year packs of Glenlivet at Costco. Can't beat the price for like $130.

I keep a bottle of Glenlivet 18 at the house and it is gooooood money :smokin

The Macallan 12 is my "daily driver" so to speak.
