NT, What Beer Do You Drink?

Heading to Vancouver, BC for work in a few weeks. Only going to be there for three days. Anybody have any idea what the beer scene is like up there? Toronto's beer scene left a LOT to be desired.

Shopping for a new apartment. Was in BK with the wife. Waiting for the realtor/listing agent to show up.

Told the Mrs. I want to look around the neighborhood and get some water, snacks for my son etc.

Roll into a grocery store. Massive beer selection. And saw something I'd never seen before......

I hate supporting coors but I'm always curious to try this one. I'll probably cop one if they have singles at bevmo or something.

Tonight's and yesterday's brews. Hi-Res was probably my favorite out of the bunch. Super juicy and highly drinkable at 10.5% ABV. Hopslam was good but wasn't mindblowing for the hype that surrounds it. Won't be seeking that out again. OTWOA was very solid. Lots of citrus notes but a little on the boozy side.

im stoked, it was hard to find these around by me but found them!!!

only comes in 4 pack unfortunately but i love this double IPA

$22 for a 6'er of Hypeslam at Total WIne. E-Z Pass.
You made the right choice.  Really boggles my mind why people still go nuts over it. It's above average, at best.

Hey...did you ever end up drinking that Westy 12?
Absolutely. I've had it a handful of times and I've never been impressed.

I sure did drink the Westy 12. Interesting and enjoyed it, but I prob wouldn't seek it out. Funny how that works cause you said the same about the Huna. I still have 5 left from last year and got my tickets to this years event in which I'll pull four more. I love that stuff!

I just had some White Oak Jai Alai at my favorite bar tonight too. That stuff is pure crack. I'll try and find some tomorrow at the stores and send you a couple.

Damn didn't know Hopslam cost that much. The homey from VA sent me a bunch of stuff and didn't ask for anything in return. Speaking of WO Jai Alai, i should be getting a few 4-packs this week. Really excited to try it!

Funny thing about Huna: I wasn't wowed when I had it, but it's a beer that I look back on and say "I want some more of that."  Having had Mexican Cake and Xocoveza afterwards, it's become my favorite style of beer.  Definitely wanna seek out another bottle this year.

...I hope you're reading between the lines right now.

We shall see. Keep an eye out for some more trade bait and we'll make something happen.

As far as the White Oak Jai Alai… I scored huge today, which is wild because all Total Wine's and all but one ABC were out within a couple days of it's release last week. I'll put a couple in the mail this week for ya. Y'all ever had any issues with cans bursting on planes?

Did anyone in the Chicagoland area get there hands on some Heavy Petal? Kind of odd and complex...

Walked into the distributor where I found Hopslam by surprise and stumbled upon this today.  Definitely need to stop by there more often.

Also went crazy and placed an order on craftshack the other night.  Got 18 Anderson Valley Blood Orange Goses and a bottle of Alpine Nelson.  Zero regrets.

Call my justifications crazy but since passing up on bombers for the most part this year, I treat myself to a "cheaper" alternative in form of a four or six pack. Sadly It's not just one sixer. Usually two.

Comparison Ford, there is an oddly addicting quality to AVBC blood orange gose. I think I drank three in a row a couple weeks back.. ABV won't kill you, and the calories as a result make for a great session product.. My local beer store has stopped carrying the normal gose, and now just has the BO gose.. No complaints

This weeks pickups. Two sixers of AVBC BO Gose. I saw your post comparison ford, and said, "hell yeah, I need some more, im all out".

La Cumbre has a newly released canned beer, a red rye beer called red ryeot.

6.5%, 75 IBUs. It's basically a hoppy red ale or amber ale. I've had it on draft before. never cans. I'll check this beer out tonight.

What I passed on today.. Been seeing Bigfoot BA around in bombers.. Avery has their Uncle Jacobs stout, a 16.9% BBA beer out. Its $13 for a 12 oz. bottle. I laughed at that price and picked up a sixer of Gose.. I feel my enjoyment factor is better with a touch of a quantity with quality mixed in.. call me crazy... I also saw one last bomber of Abyss sitting on the shelf. At $16, I just couldn't do it.

That AVBC Blood Orange Gose is bomb. I can drink those everyday. Plus if I'm hungover and need something to get me right, those are the truth.

Gonna stop by Societe today and try their Miser Triple IPA before heading over to O'Briens for my Pliny the Younger charity pours. From what I've been hearing, the Miser is better than both the Younger and the Exponential Hoppiness from Alpine this year.

JESTER KING!

:pimp:

Tried some Nocturn when I was out in Austin a few weeks back. Haven't tried any other their other beers tho.

All of their fruits are good. The best of the non-fruit are Ol Oi, RU55, Boxers Revenge, and Funk Metal. I enjoy their stuff.

Got back from Austin last night. Was able to make the trek out to JK. Except for the extreme cold, it was a super cool experience. A brewery in a farm out in the middle of nowhere. Tried out a bunch of their samplings, which for the price is really high. They didn't have any of their fruit ones though |I

Picked up a bottle and brought it on over to the Salt Lick which was fantastic as well.
