The Official Netflix Thread Tho: Recommend Streaming Movies

Nah, I hate musicals, too. It isn't really a musical. The music is usually pretty dope when it does pop up, and it usually takes place somewhere it makes sense like a party. They don't just break out into song or anything.

I'm like 10 mins into the second episode. First episode was an hour and a half. Solid so far.

Will watch the Get Down next. Currently watching Rules of Engagement.

Really looking forward to 2nd season of Narcos.

First episode was amazing. My only gripes are minor and it's the inclusion of Jaden Smith as the graffiti writer, and calling "the break" part of the record "the get down". But overall the show is entertaining. If you've watched Style Wars, Wild Style, Beat Street, etc. you'll dig this show.

Finally got time to finish ep 1 of the Get Down.

Man the execution was on point man!

I don't see how NETFLIX keeps winning! If you pass on this show you are tripping!

Shaolin Fantastic is the kid who starred in DOPE. And the lead, the wordsmith, kid is fly AF. Ol girl is wrong for breaking my mans heart though.

MIght have to start a thread on this.

Show is amazing.

Glad to see Baz Luhrmann back and eating. He's perfect for this.

First few episodes I thought she was young so wasn't beasting...but when I did my googles, tho...

Show is dope. I could do without Mylene's storyline honestly, but it makes sense and it's good for what it is...the story of the rise of Rap in the Bronx is so dope, though. The way they tell the story of how things progressed and the impact of things like the blackout and political decisions had on incubating rap music. It's all stuff I've heard or been told by my father, but it explains things so seamlessly.

Love the show. 4 episodes in. Finishing tonight.

EDIT: Grandmaster Flowers Easter egg.:pimp:

The scene where Shao took them on the roof and schooled them to teriitories.
They wanted the Kingdom from jump! Rumi and Boo seeing their train pass as their crew was being established. Rumi idolizing Shao and Shao passing his paints to Rumi. That scene was epic Baz man. He always kills these "coming of age" joints. I wish he'd work more

I swear for the whole episode I was on the fence until that scene. Him breaking down the territories gave me goosebumps, man. Felt like some Game of Thrones, ****.

And I LOVE the Kung Fu influence, man.

Once I did my googles on baby girl I started beasting. She so fine man smh. I wanted a nip slip so bad.

Yeah Season one is DOPE...after that I slowly lost interest, though. Tried watching some of last season and it was ******* ridiculous. Not my cup of tea anymore.
