The Official Netflix Thread Tho: Recommend Streaming Movies

I just started season 2 today, and that 1st episode was :pimp:
I did not expect Francis to get gangsta on em, and put in his own work.
Did not see that coming at all.

But Im pacing myself with this season. 2 episodes max for me each time I watch. Im gonna drag it out for a little while.

I was honestly expecting that to happen in season one, since that's how they ended the first series on the original series. Burned through all of this season in 2 days after work. Good stuff but now it's got me itching for more new content. At least the Olympics are winding down this week and normal new shows will be back soon.

I just talked about this in the movie thread & thought I'd recommend the flick in there. It's a very good movie. Very interesting to see how seeing eye dogs are trained. For instance when picking from a litter of pups, the one that doesn't come when called is most likely the best puppy to train because it shows they are cautious & think before coming when called. Also the dogs are training to respond to English terms so not to be confused when Japanese is spoken all around them. It's amazing how calm these dogs are & how obedient they are. No CGI or special effects in the flick for the dog.

Wow, good find man. I'll definitely have to check this out. I always wondered how they trained service animals, their obedience is unrivaled.

I just started 24. What the hell did I get myself into  24, 45 min episodes for 8 seasons? This is gonna take weeks.

Is it worth it?

If your asking me, I couldn't get into 24 but it had/has a huge following. I stopped the moment Sutherland's Bauer character starting shouting, "In the name of the president of the United States, I order you to stop!" If I were a bad guy & someone spouted off something stupid like that, I would come out of where ever I was hiding & straight murk the dummy that shouted that at me... I'd come out guns blazing like Wyatt Earp did in Tombstone, "No...No...No!!!" That's some of the most stupidest writing ever.

Nah that was a question for the thread but lmao, I don't remember him saying anything that lame...yet or maybe I missed it. But his character is kinda over the top. Too many very unrealistic situations.

24 is an awesome series to marathon. I never watched it live, but to me it's great as a marathon watch because any cliffhangers you don't have to wait for next week.. just keep on going  And there's going to be a lot of eye rolling moments but then you just keep watching and say "**** it" and enjoy the ride.

It gets repetitive, it gets cringeworthy, but there's tons of awesome moments, Kiefer is the man, Chloe is awesome, and it's the format is pretty cool.

Exactly.

I wouldn't try to watch all them seasons in a row. Take your time it took me a few months because after a while it gets repetitive but its a good series to watch all the way through. This May is the new season which will be my first time watching it live.

24 was awesome. Season 6 was when it got kinda lame to me. Took a month break and watched the rest. Pretty excited about the relaunch coming up. Bauer is one of my favorite TV characters ever.

^ thanks for the input guys, i'll definitely continue to watch. And i'll try not to be surprised by the ridiculousness of this show. but what he did to that child molester in his very own office is way over the top

Dude was basically another version of the chuck norris meme. Way over the top and invincible but the show was entertaining. It did get repetitive like someone said with them rotating the different terrorists.

Just started arrows. I like it.

Finished bates motel earlier...watched the entire season in a day. Feel like i wasted my day lol. It just wasnt worth it but i was bored and sick so whatever

Finish orange is the new black. Didn't care for it. It got better towards the end but I just couldn't get into it.

I don't even bother with shows less than 2 seasons and they are already cancelled. I'm not even about to do that to my spirit  JUST in case I fall in love and it's just "done".

BB was diff cuz there were 5 seasons you know? Plus they went out on their own terms so there weren't many loose ends. Shows that get cancelled abruptly have those killer loose ends that just leave you sick.

Dunno how you guys are able to sit through an entire season and say you "couldn't get into it".

So why stick through hour long episodes? For me, if I can't get into it... it'll take 2 maybe 3 episodes before I call it quits.

^ one can hope that it only gets better.

I watched the first couple eps of season 1 of breaking bad and couldn't get into it. A year later I forced myself to watch and finally started getting interested when Tuco came on the scene. I regret not pushing through those first couple episodes, that I still find boring btw, to get to the good stuff.

A few years back LOST S1 was my first marathon watch, pure crack. After that Farscape which really got me watching sci-fi shows. Would've never watched **** like Doctor Who or Battlestar Galactica without that.
Other...Farscape fans...exist? :nerd: :nthat:

Tell me Guardians of the Galaxy ain't Farscape: The Movie.

Just started house of cards. I'm not interested in or follow politics so i'm trying to decipher all of the political jargon in the dialogue. It is interesting how people have influence over other people and manipulate them. Politics is just a big game.

You'd be surprised how many there are and the different types of folk that dig it. great series, I'm binge watching it again for the umpteenth time. And yeah the Guardians film looks so similar I wonder if Farscape drew any themes from the comics.

Actually just read more on guardians, it might be the other way around.
