Too late. My little head seent and read it all.

Tell me how the Nats gave them their A game when their bullpen collapsed and threw away the game?

How do you determine an MLB having their A-Game versus their C-Game?

My man played a few Draft kings games and turned into Vin Scully.

The same way you would for a Futbol, NFL or NBA player.

Some nights you just don't have it. Who knows why, that's on the players.

Anyway, matters none.

Yea I think I'm focusing on the A-Game part too much. The Mets have played a bunch of sorry teams in a row but 8 in a row is still impressive. Would love to see Harvey to a CG shutout to clinch the World Series win :pimp:

Nats gave them all they had they just suck. Every time they got a lead we fired back. They're not a good team.

Yup. Poor play but horrible managing and that is why the Nats are in the position they find themselves in. They definitely did not pack it in two weeks ago.

It cracks me up how certain teams get so much run in these threads

Mets and Nats in here

Miami in the CFB thread

The bullpen is why they're in this position. Rizzo really ****** that up and overlooked how thin the bullpen depth was. The injury to Stammen was huge and the loss of Clippard sticks out and all Rizzo did to combat that was bring in Casey ******* Jannsenn who would get rocked by many college teams. Gotta look forward to next year and actually address positions of need. We need another power bat and a complete overhaul of the pen. Unless the Mets re-sign Cespedes, I don't see them being this good next year so the Nats window hasn't closed yet.

It's pretty much the same 15 people posting in here all the time  Two Nats fans and 3 Mets fans, what'd you expect?

Just read about your boy Grichuk not being able to throw. Can't believe he flips the ball to Heyward when he's in CF

We rocked Scherzer and fought back against a bad bullpen after Harvey and Niese got smoked, if that doesn't scream a legit playoff team, then nothing does in your minds. Nationals scored runs that series and we answered back every time.

Just saw the highlight of Yelich hosing Legares trying to tag up to second base

Nothing rustles my baseball jimmies more than guys trying to tag to second.

Fighting back against a bad bullpen screams legit playoff team? I disagree. Scherzer has been awful since the All-Star Break except in two starts against the Marlins, so you're doing what the Rockies and Reds did to him as well. If you all can do it against an actual legit playoff team, than kudos. But the last legit playoff team you played shut you guys down in close bullpen tested games at Citi Field. Beating up on the Nationals bullpen isn't exactly a difficult thing to do. Now if you beat up on the Yankees bullpen I'd be impressed...not that y'all care if I am or not

You still need to beat up on bad pitching, plenty of playoff teams struggle with that at times. Coming back from 7-1 shows legitimacy. This team has come back against every team they've faced during this stretch. Sure they may not be stellar teams, but that fight is real. Down 7-4 with 2 outs and two men on, tying the game and winning, that's legitimate fight. You can undercut it with, well it's the Braves, but it's the heart and focus you see within legit contenders.

And yeah they got swept against the Pirates, but 2 of those games were blown by a guy who won't be on the postseason roster. Chances were there in those games, just didn't get the needed hits.

See, I said the same thing last season during a 10 game Nats winning streak where they had 5 walk-off wins. 2 of those wins came against the playoff bound Pirates. And just because Parnell won't be on the roster doesn't forgive the bats for going ghost in extra innings against some solid pitchers and Joe Blanton. Guess we'll just have to see how the Mets handle it in October.

Definitely. Bats were disappointing then, and part of me worries they cool down at the wrong time, but if they can maintain this tempo, it's gonna be a fun October. Just won't be easy facing Kershaw and Greinke 4 times.

:pimp:

good looks on the 40% off

want a Jeter with the '96 WS patch but they don't have my size :smh:

The best?

I don't think anyone said the Mets weren't a legit team. Fans are so fickle, tho. You had given up on the season before the all star break but now you will hear none of our critcisms

I've been asking for a Mets vs Astros/Jays WS all season long. I'm just not putting too much emphasis kn beating teams that you will not be facing in the playoffs. I hope they ball doe. Cespedes vs Donaldson in thr world series would be hilarious to me as an AL West fan.

I'm supposed to sit here and be happy with Eric Campbell playing everyday?

It's a completely different team after the trade deadline. One was a Triple-A roster, the other is full of big leaguers.

I admit I wanted the Mets to become sellers on MLB Deadline. It was because I never thought Alderson'd go after a power hitter.

If it weren't for MLB deadline trades, we have no chance at all. I mean we were the worst NL offensive team. :x

Acquiring Cespedes was a surprise move. It isn't Alderson's thing. He doesn't strike me a guy who is willing to give up prospects for a rental player.
