I don't know if it's necessarily true that Beane tried to outsmart everyone, but that his moves could only pay off with the offense that the team had in the beginning and middle of the season. You might say that Cespedes was a significant part of that, but the numbers don't support that claim. It comes down to players playing closer to their expectations offensively and having poor infield defense. These Angels games have been close games, and with the offense they've had for most of the season they'd be winning their fair share of them. But being shut out 20-21 innings straight now, it's clear that the team is playing below their ability.

I expect the team to recover somewhat, but I think the division is lost now. Have to hold ground and keep the wild card.

only real hope is sea has to pitch felix in their final series to lock up playoff slot (vs laa, who might not even be playing regs) to aviod him in the play in

welp, adam *** dunn to the rescue....

Nice doing business with you, Oakland :D

You're welcome. I guess you aren't so pissy about losing Richards anymore?

Apparently umpire Gerry Davis made a "sad face" towards Oakland's dugout after Saturday's game. The A's lodged a complaint with the league office and Davis was reprimanded by the league. Kazmir suggested after the game today that the umps were calling pitches differently today because of it.

The tigers should get those blown up and have it in the clubhouse for when he walks in tomorrow haha

Is Upton in those pictures, because if not .... Why even bother?

Do you, though.

I'm extremely pissy about that. We have almost no shot to do anything in the playoffs unless shoemaker keeps pitching out of his mind which is unlikely. The A's are gonna cost me some money with this chokejob but it's great to see A's fans in panic mode
