Another team popping bottles in Atlanta :frown:

Actually good for the Pirates

400

Now Felix shouldn't win any awards? Jesus Christ.

And only ******* morons think that about Jeter  Keith's always had a little bit of a hard on about DJ though.

Hoping for a Nats vs Dodgers NLCS will attend at least one game of that even if I have to sell half my shoe collection

I think Madison wouldve folded puig :nerd:

No question. Madbum has that country strength.

On another note, I think having champagne celebrations for clinching a playoff spot is beyond stupid. I also think winning the Division Series doesnt warrant a champagne celebration either.

Yea whatever, more ******* Derek Jeter for you.

Finally, there’s this astounding number. According to Elias, it’s the number of games Jeter has played, in his entire career, in which his team, the mighty Yankees, was mathematically eliminated from some sort of race for some sort of trip to the postseason. One meaningless game in 20 seasons? Whoa. On one hand, it would be nuts to argue that was all Derek Jeter’s doing. On the other hand, what defines his career better than that? A man who lived for the big game -- and played nothing but big games. For 20 years. What better way to put a frame around the career of one of the greatest shortstops who ever turned a 4-6-3?

It'll probably be 5 before the season is over. SEMANTICS!

Keith had points but some **** was just ridiculous  like the WAR. Yea, he's not up there all time but there are only two SS's who are. Jeter's definitely a top 10 SS of all time and it's really just preference where you put him after Wagner and A-Rod. The MVP talk...I mean okay, he got jobbed one year but you can have that. Going after his postseason impact? IDK about that one.

But yes, this whole farewell tour has been a little sickening and he should have been dropped in the lineup. They made the Yankees success secondary to his tour, which a lot of fans are going to ignore because Jeter is bigger than the Yankees for most people.

But then those same people will ***** and moan about missing the playoffs for back to back years and where did it all go wrong.

I mean the major difference between Kobe and Jeter though is one is really one of the best players to ever play his sport, the other is just great.

Although I hate the Yanks, I've never hated Jeter but hearing all these misinformed opinions being disseminated by his fans has been nauseating. He is prolly the most overhyped athlete maybe in the history of professional sports.

I hope this farewell tour crap ends after this. Chipper was cool because I don't think it was preconceived in anyway it just kinda happened (the braves and Yankees are probably my to least favorite baseball teams fwiw) but this jeter one is nauseating and nike is not helping it go down any smoother

The Jeter farewell tour has been way over the top in a New York type way.

What Yankee is retiring next year?

No question bumgarnwr would've folded Puig... Insert Jennifer Lawrence gif.. Frankly we don't know and we all know these dudes can't fight. Like the confidence though "No question."

Don't mind the division winners celebrating. It's a long season, lot of travel, lot of work. You've actually won some sort of crown. Don't know why the WC teams celebrate when they are about to be in a sudden death one game playoff.

Agreed.  Winning your division deserves a celebration.  So does winning the Championship Series and obviously the World Series.  Clinching a wildcard spot and winning the Division Series does not warrant a celebration IMO.

Those defensive stats that Keith pointed out tho

And there's a huge difference between kobe and Jeter. Kobe would actually deserve farewell tour but he won't get one

I would love for the last yankee home game to get rained out.
