I'm gonna enjoy this first place thing while it lasts :pimp:

Addison Russell called up.......on the road. Huge surprise there eh.

Kris Bryant now hitting .429.

Same local media guy that BP went off on. everyone hates C Trent

But Marty got the respect at the end of it :pimp:

^^^

Speaking of bear, my boys went to a Grizzlies game here in Fresno last week and one of their daughters got an autographed ball from Jon Singleton.
Kinda want him to be the everyday first baseman. Chris Carter is terrible. He just had a hot streak last summer keeping him in the lineup. While singleton is hitting .310 with 3 bombs in AAA

Kris Bryant finding his groove and Jorge Soler is on a 7 game hit streak. He went 4-5 yesterday.. Addison Russell is being called to play 2B tonight. Whew!!!!!!! These kids will be around for along time. Boy Wonder Theo Strikes again.

You guys ever read the back of your ticket when you go to a sporting event?
For real. One she wasn't paying attention to the game. The net did its job, she just happened to be standing next to the net. She there at her own risk. Team still might give her something because they feel bad but they are totally in the clear.

Kris Bryant's OPS is impressive. Looking forward to seeing him achieve his max potential

False.

Of course they can, my guess is it flexed a proper amount and proper notification is given to fans. If not, I would assume the liability will fall on the net mfg first unless it is simply an issue of the stadium not giving notification and the net worked to its designed capability

Edit - and regardless if she files anything I'd hope the stadium tests the net to ensure it is working properly

can they investigate the strength of the net and decide whether or not it was faulty?

where do you stand on bird law?

There's a presumption that when you attend a sporting event, that you assume risk inherent with sitting in the stands.

Courts are heavily in favor of the teams and stadiums, but that doesn't really mean you shouldn't bring a suit. Every situation has different facts.

If I was that lady's lawyer, I'd bring a negligence and products liability cause of faction.

Courts looked at the established custom by the teams and leagues, so obviously everyone uses nets. However, you could look at the last time the net was replaced, the type of net, and why don't they use a reasonable alternative such as plexiglass.

Precedent can easily and often changes with just small differences in fact. The fact that she was right behind the plate, and still got drilled strengthens her case IMO.

listened to a fangraphs podcast on scouting and it's got me looking up scouting grades and what not. interesting stuff.

this Folty kid the Braves sounds like he's got great stuff potentially for closing.

since Folty was an Astro, I had the pain of following and watching him. His fastball has plus velocity, but it still gets hit hard

And he really doesn't have a great or consistent secondary pitch.

He reminds me another Astros pitcher, Felipe Paulino :x

You watch him throw 98 and have no idea how he gets crushed

yeah that's what dude was saying. it's like Folty doesn't realize/know how to pitch yet. which could just be him being better suited for the pen. i love me an elite fastball though, always intriguing
