I'm not really feeling the Cubs looking good so early. Thought the divison had another year :smh:

For real. One she wasn't paying attention to the game. The net did its job, she just happened to be standing next to the net. She there at her own risk. Team still might give her something because they feel bad but they are totally in the clear.

I believe she didn't intend not to pay attention to the game on purpose. She was just on her way to her seat. It's only natural that you aren't paying attention to anything you pay to watch when you are on your way to the seat. She just had a bad luck that time. I don't think the net is the problem. Foul ball still went over 80 mph. Too much force though.

You can see that the usher or staff let two women going to their seat. Maybe he should have waited until the play dies and then allows fans going to their seat.

I didn't even notice that, makes it look even more like a negligence claim.

There is another year still. We still have some holes and injuries.

Grimm/Ramirez both missing from pen.
Baez on bereavment.

And Theo still needs another Ace to pick up this off-season.

Then Schwarber comes up next year.

We look to be on the 80-85 win path I was hopin for, next year, if we do land that second "Lester" to the rotation, I'll expect 95.

Brewers, Cubs, Marlins and Mariners all look like ****. Another short season for them. People had some of these teams going deep. Cruz is doing WAY better than I expected but that team is almost minor league worthy. Cubs are just cursed, that's it. It's almost sad.

These plans

Sounds like every NFL coach having a 3 year plan

Cubs look good considering the expectations. Marlins never deserved the hype they got—one of those teams that needed to show their potential rather than speculate it. Some decent bats, but that pitching is meh. Mariners have gotten zero help from that staff sadly. Kuma looks old, Taijuan has no off-speed stuff. They need to upgrade 1B.

Brewers suck.

Padres look really good so far.

I was gonna say this last night

How many more at bats do we need to see out of Logan Morrison to know he's not very good?

I'm personally going with 0

Marlins just have 0 pitching, I mean when Haren is your best guy?

They can score though.

I know that you're slow, but "these plans" have been followed daily on NT for about 2-3 years now, and guess what, it's happened, step, by step, so far.

Starlin Rizzo locked up.
Developing Baez/Almora, signing Soler
Drafting Bryant
Drafting Schwarber (basically signifying that bats are priority)
Assembling young, strong arm pen
Selling off vets, Dempster, Garza, Soriano, Shark, etc for any prospects that can be had.
2013 International signings
Renovate Wrigley
Lester
Upgrade at Catcher

Next step?
2015 FA Pitching.
2015 International signings (going to overspend big time and absorb the 2016 penalty)
9th pick in June draft

So laugh all you want, you aren't watching the process, you have no idea what you're talkin about except 100 year jokes and lookin foolish. I have every single transaction that's taken place from the day Theo arrived. It's easy to see what he's been doing, and what's next.

Going to Mets game today. Kevin Plawecki's debut. It's been a long time since I attended a Mets game where a hot prospect debuted. Last time, it was Lastings Milledge's debut game. His outfield assist on Counsell was sick.

  you crack me up

I just think it's funny that you're expecting 80+ wins and then 90+

These things rarely work in a linear fashion

Your views on the Cubs are so simplistic

Cubs have talent but they're screwed. That team has been dreadful and then they give 100+ to a pitcher that's looking old and worn out. So happy the Yankees didn't sign him, knew he was getting too old.

How crazy is it that the Mariners actually are getting hits and scoring runs, but have been blowing games because of their pitching?

In regards to Morrison, it's like Justin Smoak never left. No more of that "can't hit in SafeCo" excuse either, the Astros showed last night that it's not a problem

And I can be off a few games and still be satisfied. 78 this year, and 89 next year. Would that upset me? Hell no. It's progress.

The big picture has always been the goal. Theo said it would take five years to truly correct itself.

When they sucked, he sold parts, lowered payroll and saved money for when he was good.

Built farm, now spending. He will buy another ace this off-season, and we proceed from there.

I've been tracking since the day he was hired. We have seen everything coming, step for step.

****, the day, DAY Maddon opted out, everyone named us. Oh and look, we got him.

Lester, because he doesn't cost us a draft pick, and previous relationship to Theo.

Rizzo, right away. One of Theo's first pulls.

Bats in round 1, then loads up on college and HS arms, as well as guys he can sign under slot, so he can over slot the late round riskier picks.

I'm not in here tellin anyone to design our rings or pickin out years. I'm saying he's rebuilt the franchise, from Single A all the way up. **** he's even rebuilding Wrigley. He's getting a new TV deal. He's stocked the farm, the MLB club, the international roster, adding revenue streams galore, and that has NEVER taken place in Chicago.

Never.

So linear or not, I see the path, and expect improvement each year. Last year was better than 2013. Appears this year will surpass last. And I expect next year to surpass this one.

Will it all lead to glory? We'll find out. But at least now, we'll be in the hunt goin forward, and not havin to overhaul again in 2 years.
