Wow, already? He's only like 20 years old. The Astros are being aggressive. Isn't Appel supposed to make his MLB debut this year as well?

By the time he's proven to be able to hit AAA pitching would it make sense to bring him up with Lowrie's return around the corner at that point?

I just don't see why they would rush him through the system when they're winning games even with a hole at SS.

I really don't think he is being rushed. In my opinion, he's ready for the majors now.

We need the bats, we have too many guys not hitting. Lowrie can slide over and play third, which could then move Valbuena over to first. Flexibility is never a bad thing,

With that being said, i'm way more worried about our buns starting pitching after DK and McHugh

93 pitchers have 10 walks+ already this season. Pineda has 10 walks in 122-2/3 innings dating back to beginning of 2014.

113 Ks to 10 walks in that time.

I'm glad Pineda is showing out. I was real worried after his injury that he wouldn't return to the form we saw a nice glimpse of when he was with Seattle. Would have been a bummer as fans to be deprived of what his potential suggests.

Bryant needs to play 20 years and average 40 homeruns a year to break Bryce Harper's record.

Mets playing losing baseball today :pimp:
