Bryce, unreal.

Rizzo, young pop see ya

hope the two have major seasons - young talent is off the charts this year

When is Harper a free agent?

Trying to figure out when he'll be on the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Dodgers or Angels

Pulling Strasburg after only 80 pitches though?
Pretty sure they just wanted him to get the feel of things again and just being on the mound. Hell pitch count will start to rise in the following weeks. Only the first game
Isn't that what spring training is for?
yes that is true, but its a totally different atmosphere i would think atleast and even though its the first game you wouldnt want anything happening to him. Managers are relying on there bullpen

I mean, I have a problem with all of it.

Even if you want to say that they are just playing it safe, think about it this way. It's a 2-0 game. They aren't up nine runs. And also, it's Opening Day at your home park. You're the World Series favorite; those tickets aren't cheap. Think the fans want to see their ace precautionarily pulled?

It's been two and a half years since his surgery. Come on.

Your starter is dealing, had only thrown 80 pitches, and you pull him in a close game. That's the problem lol

I can see the rationale, but I think it's way too tentative at this point. I do not agree with the decision to pull him.

There's no good reason to pull him. He got his reps in during Spring Training, he should be more than prepared to through up to 100 pitches in a major league game. The Nats are doing everyone, including him, a disservice.

He pitched 7 really good innings, still dont see the issue.

Think Matt Cain migh match Strasburg's pitch count after the 1st inning here
