why are people assuming Stanton has to be traded? I don't get it lol

He is under club control until 2017. He isn't going anywhere.
He wants out and won't sign an extension there... They're ******ed if they don't try to maximize the value.

That's not to say they should trade him without being blown away, but getting a kid at the level of Profar PLUS some that they would control and build around for 6 years and haven't already pissed off? If you can get a great deal they've got to consider it.

But they're the Marlins and they're borderline ******ed, so they'll probably wait too long and not get something even close to value.

What level is Profar at? AAA

He's a highly regarded prospect, no guarantee he'll ever be anything at the MLB level.

Stanton is under team control for another 4 years. There's no need to move him till then. Guys with 80 on the power scale don't grow on trees.

You can't trade a proven commodity under team control for prospects, period.

You can when you're one of the two worst teams in baseball with zero money to spend on anything and no immediate impact prospects on the way very soon...

Dodgers have bark in the park Saturday.

When healthy Kemp is better than Braun and Stanton. Kemp is more well rounded, Stanton has incredible power. Braun plays LF, and too much smoke when it comes to PED's. kemp plays in a pitcher friendly park in a pitching heavy division. It's all null and void considering Kemp is struggling to recover from shoulder surgery. I like CarGo but, nah.

The A's call is embarrassing for the sport. Just get rid of replay if that kind of call can't be overturned.

this aint the first time he's clearly blown a call . it couldn't get any clearer . it just amazes me how he's still allowed to ump in the majors ...

The Cardinals pitching is CRAZY good right now.

Starting pitchers are still mostly consistent and the bullpen switch up has done WONDERS.

Maness, Martinez, Rosenthal and Mujica are BALLIN right now!!!!!!!!!

Our offense needs to score more runs in more than 1 inning though........Its like they get hot for 1 inning and are too dependant on the starters or bullpen to keep the lead instead of pouring it on. its like they get complacent in the middle of the game or something.

on a side note..........CANT WAIT TO SEE OSCAR TAVARES IN THE BIGGS!!!!!!!!!!

Matt Kemp is not better than Ryan Braun lol

Braun's 162 game average of there course of his career: .313/.375/.569

Respectively, Kemp is .294/.351/.496

They both came into the league at roughly the same time. Kemp has played 926 games, and Braun 917.

Braun has 128 more hits, 57 more homers, 79 more runs, and 127 more RBI. Braun has better career numbers in AVG/OBP/SLG.

Baseball reference/fan graphs WAR has Braun with 35.1/32.2 and Kemp 19.5/20.5 over their careers.

Braun has been the better player in every season they've both played except arguably 2011 where Kemp was second in MVP voting, and Braun won it.

Let me reiterate, I'm okay with Trout, Harper, and Braun over Matty. But 2011 is not arguable. Kemp was robbed.

I wouldn't exactly say Kemp got robbed of the 2011 MVP, but he was very deserving. He would have gotten my vote.

Kazmir is dominating the A's today.

:smh: A's are hurting bad with injuries, just need to tread water until we get back those players. Coco is such a huge part of the offense, and both him AND his replacement are on the DL. That 19 inning game against the Angels sent three of the players to the DL alone :x

I haven't watched baseball in years, let alone consider myself a fan of the game, and even i know that that was clearly a homer. Refs screwed up things all over sports last night.
