I was pitching to those guys.

Not really, just sayin it before someone else did.

The home run derby video? I thought that was Dan Haren pitching.

I haven't seen all the tape from the Dodgers and Dbacks game but if the Dbacks are at fault and I'm the Dodgers, I'm putting in League tomorrow to drill Corbin. League getting suspended is a blessing for them anyways.

Kennedy deserves to be suspended for months.

Puig was likely an accident. But Montero takes one in the back as retaliation. Whatever. It's done.

But then Kennedy wants to throw at Greinke's head? **** out of here. It's a shame Puig didn't get ahold of him.

The coaches going at it was classic ****, though.

Just saw it all and I agree, it should have been done after Montero got hit. I don't like Greinke at all but to throw at his head? Can't agree with that.

Tomorrow should be fun.

Months?

Come on Kev.
50 games (so 10 starts for him).

That's ****** up, man. Somebody is going to die on the field one day. You already have pitchers taking return liners to the head. No need to intentionally try to do that ****.

Especially this specific scenario. Can't believe he would really throw at a second head after he started it all, accident or not.

Have you guys ever heard of this "Homerun Derby" TV show from 1960? I just heard of it for the first time on the Yankees broadcast. I wish they still had shows like this today.

The rules were similar to modern home run derbies, with two notable exceptions. If a batter did not swing at a pitch that was in the strike zone, that also constituted an out. Also, the contests were conducted in a more similar fashion to a baseball game than the modern home run derbies, where a player has a set number of outs before his turn is over.
Batters were given three outs per inning, and the player with the most home runs after nine innings won. The defending champion had the advantage of batting last; his opponent batted first. Any ball not hit for a home run was an out. The player did not have to swing at every pitch, but if he did not swing at it, and the pitch was in the strike zone, that also constituted an out, as did a swing and a miss, but these rarely happened as the pitcher was supposed to be giving the batters good balls to hit. If the players were tied after nine innings, the Derby would go into extra innings as per regular baseball.

Do you not remember The Big League Challenge? I think it was in the late 90s or early 2000s. it was a tournament that was held in Vegas for a few years in a row, that was run the same way that Homerun Derby was (three outs an inning, one on one, etc.). ESPN recorded the entire tournament, which was an 8 player tournament. Every one on one matchup was aired as an episode. ESPN used to air them early saturday morning, and during rain delays.

It was GREAT!!! All the big names would compete. Bonds. McGwire. Sosa. Manny. Piazza. All the superstars of the game. Used to love watching it.

Belisario will be suspended mininum 15 games...Kennedy will probably end up missing 3 starts, Puig is gone for at least a week. First week in the league and that happens? lol classless.

He got hit with a 92 MPH fastball...IN THE FACE!!! All the classlessness is on Arizona's side.

It should have ended with the Puig bean.. but apparently the dodgers thought that it was intentional for some reason and kept it going... than again I'd be pretty mad with a billion dollar payroll but in dead last.

Where are you guys getting these numbers from?!? Fifty games? Fifteen games?

You remember when Johnny Cueto kicked Jason Larue in the face and side of the head with his cleats? Yeah, he got 7 games. He ended a players career yet a pitcher throwing a ball near a player's shoulder deserves 50? Like I said....come on Kev.

And I totally missed Belisario's part in this. What did he do that could possibly warrant fifteen games?

You have any videos? I found a couple articles, but I can't find anywhere to watch.

Belisario was out there throwing haymakers. classic stuff right there. Whomever Big Mac was going at didn't want any part of that  the bar i was at got super crazy after Greinke got hit.

Kev wants these fools parading around and dancing when they hit a dinky home run but is mortally offended as soon as someone gets hit. Sorry, but those are unwritten rules. You act like a clown, you'll get treated like one.

Idk throwing at someone's head is a pretty big deal, especially after you almost broke a guys nose earlier in the game. Ya there are unwritten rules but there are limits though, throwing a pitch at someone's head? That's a fine and some games. Throwing a pitch at the other pitchers head? That's a big fine and a good amount of games.

If you want respect, you have to conduct yourself accordingly. The fact is that this is what the culture of baseball is, and unless you're going to start throwing tennis balls over the plate, pitchers will always have the ability to retaliate against the other team. Don't want to get hurt? Then don't ask for a beaning.

I'm all for having your players backs but there's a limit. You don't go throwing at guys heads, throwing at backs is fine but heads is another story. All it takes is getting one wrong spot and someones career or possibly life is over.

Nah Bruh.

Hitting a batter below the numbers is fine and okay.

Bean balls to the head is ******g ridiculous. Regardless. 90+ MPH fastballs to the face are unjustifiable. Under no circumstance is that okay
