However, if there are guys who did (supposedly) play clean (frank thomas/jim thome come to mind), isn't that a slap in the face to them for what they accomplished by NOT cheating?

that's just it, though. "supposedly". when it's so ingrained within the game, you can't even assume innocence. would it surprise anyone outside of thome and thomas die hards if it came out that these guys were dirty? probably not.

Wouldn't surprise me at all...however, I am sure there are guys who played the game clean. They'd have a legit gripe, but due to roids and other PEDs running rampant in MLB, it's hard to give anyone the benefit of the doubt.

For me, Crush's explosion has more to do with change of scenery than PED's. I know our generation has been trained to be rightfully cynical, but you can't underestimate the removal of intense pressure in Texas. It was clear Davis was pressing at the plate and uncomfortable in his at-bats for the Rangers after his rookie season.

Barry Bonds is UNQUESTIONABLY the HR king and the greatest player of this generation, any argument to the contrary is ridiculous, the only one close is maybe A-Rod when he played short.
Also I 10000% believe baseball blackballed Bonds out of the game, when you see what lengths that idiot bud Selig is going to go after Braun.
Honestly I believe Barry could DH right now if he was still in baseball shape.
