It was just the other day he said it was the Pirates or retirement. I guess 16 million was enough to make him reconsider

Money talks. Like you said, he was Pittsburgh or nothing. Then Nats came into play for ring chasing as a fifth starter behind Fister.

Reported yesterday Phils were back in.

Rich owner, deep pockets & close to home I guess. I really think it's all about the money at this point and he was a little offended Pittsburgh never gave him the QO. He's never come off as a ring chase though. Guy is always blocking 10-15 teams in his NTC's.

Fair enough. Thanks for the correction.

I initially had Nats/Tigers in the WS, but you know I have my doubts about Detroit.

We on for the $5 beer bet? KC second for me, third for you.

Power wise I think he does. Other than that, it's a crap shoot to me. I just don't have that kinda faith in Hosmer I guess. But with the work Brett did with him, he looks better than he did. But I'd still be mildly shocked if he out produced someone like Mauer or Pujols this year.

I want Hosmer on par with Goldy (wishful), Freeman, and Rizzo. Salvaged the second half of '13.

I've tempered my expectations on Brett Lawrie.

Well he's already better than Rizzo. I think it'll be tough for him to crack the top 5 of CD, Goldy, Freeman, Votto & Edwin. He's gotta start making more adjustments to stop hitting so many grounders. I think that'll help him immensely. There's too much power untapped in that bat for him to be hit GB's 50% of the time.

I strongly dislike Encarnacion. No love for Prince?

Prince wasn't better than those guys last year IMO so I counted him out.

Didn't see the Lawrie mention. There's another guy that should learn to get more balls in the air. His contact has been much better but he still swings at too many dumb pitches. Needs to work on that. But the kid is going to be 24 coming in to this season, I'll cut him some slack

Lawrie ripped post-ASB. Particularly in August.

Yea but it wasn't like he's going from par the course to a huge spike you know? He was still hitting the ball on the ground too much and the walks were way too far an in between. Selectivity would go a long way to help him. Especially since it looks like he's regressed a bit on the base paths. And this is a kid I love  I would be happy to see him be 30-20 and hit .300. That cocky bastard would drive people insane if he was meeting his expectations.

I barley care, Brett Lawrie has brought me just an incredible amount of entertainment for a .260 hitting 3rd baseman, I wish he still stole basses.

awesome parody account, awesome defense.

He's going for Jeter numbers off the diamond.

Syd will always be the one that got away. Paige Brendel from "Are You the One."

he changed his stance, and stopped wagging the bat like's sheffield so I expect 280, 15-20 Hr's. decent OBP

I hope he's a blue jay for life.

What a giant p***y he is for his "Edward 40 HAND" (singular).  The hell is the point of duct taping one 40 to one hand?  Thats not how it works.

If you can only handle one 40 (like some broads can), you are supposed to duct tape your hands like this:
