How does on become a A's/Niners? A lot of those here too.

I grew up watching sports with my cousin who grew up in the East Bay as an A's fan and the Niners were the only team in the bay area. If someone grew up an A's fan when the Raiders were in LA, it is very common for them to be a Niner fan.

The Cubs do so little right

You'd be surprised.

They've rebuilt the ENTIRE organization in 3 years, all the way down to Single A teams.
They've shed their insane payroll down to one of the lowest around, and have a top 3 farm system at worst right now. Potentially #1.
Better drafting.
International usage.
Flipped bargain free agent pitchers 3 years in a row.

In 3 years.

And there are results everywhere. Rizzo improved. Starlin. Arrietta. Ramirez. Shark before the trade. Hammel a FA scrap heap. The bullpen blew the game today, but they've been solid all year.

The only drop offs have been Lake, and Travis Wood.

It's night and day from 2011 when Starlin was the only good young player we had in the entire org.

And on cue, Alcantara gets called up for 2 games so Barney can go with his new baby. Just 2 games, but a glimpse at another one of our crown jewels. :pimp:

Cubs are doing it right. Unless there's some catastrophic drop off with their farm system, they'll be competing for a long time.

It helps a lot knowing that Theo is pulling the strings. Hard to go against him.

I've read and heard. If and when it translates to MLB success I'll believe. But don't blow 5 run leads the last 3 innings. Don't get swept I a 5 game series when the division is tight. C'mon

happy to see the Cubs rebuilding and possessing a great farm. used to be my 2nd favorite team when Kerry Wood and Mark Prior were there. baseball is always better when the Cubbies, Pirates, A's, Royals, etc. are competing.

I was actually happy that the O's/Nats game was rained out last night. Bullpen has been eating a lot of innings as of late and could use a breather. Got a feeling they'll be called on early tonight as Bud Norris will only go 2 1/3. :smh:

They had won 5 straight, on the road, then traded 2 starters. There was going to be a letdown from that. Been predicted for months.

The A's are moving to San Antonio, where they will become the Á's.

Cole Hamels can be traded to LAD, LAA, STL, WAS, ATL, NYY, BOS, TEX, SD without his permission, sources tell @Ken_Rosenthal and me.

Interesting. A rotation of Stras, Gio, JZ, Fister, AND Hamels?! I'd be so hyped.

If Amaro traded Hamels to the Nationals, I think fans in Philly would crucify him.

People complain about Howard's contract everyday. Its atrocious. But looking back no one could've predicted he would've blew his achilles out which then led to knee issues.

Mike Rizzo won't go after him, but if I were the GM, I would though. Keep him from going to the Braves or any other NL contending team in need of pitching help.
